hi,
i'm looking for some good free (or inexpensive) FX plugins to improve the sound of my material.
what do you guys use / recommend?

Some of my favourite free plugins are Bionic Supa Delay which is a powerful delay plugin, and the dbglitch suite which you can find for free (eigter way I recommend you Glitch 2 which is pretty inexpensive)
Btw, if you're seeking for another good solution for a bundle of good quality freeware plugins, check this one out.

the s1 piano by cubic audio is a great free plugin.... if you are after the old skool happy hardcore piano sound then this is the plugin for you.
EDIT: i know its not a fx plugin but its a must have in my opinion

i know, S1 Piano really is hard to beat, especially for a freeware plugin :V

fabfilter is one of the better sounding filters, its not really needed on leads if you use tone2 gladiator, but other synth vsti's will have better highs with saw waves
