Hey guys so here's my first stab at making a song. listening to it now i think it has a very classic hardcore sound to it.. like something that would have been released around early 2000. I also think i could have done a better job with the mixdown too but i guess its all part of the learning process.

Feedback Welcome.

Not bad for a first attempt, personally though i think the intro and outro was what sounded the most 'spot on' in the track but still good effort, and well done for deciding to produce UK Hardcore :D

Not bad for a first attempt, not bad at all!

Ill try and give you some help/pointers, please dont take it offensively, just thought Id try and help.

The intro is quite long and the song takes quite a while to 'get going'. Its 3.24 before I feel like it actually 'kicks in'.

The first synth that comes in around 50 seconds is quite harsh and overpowering

When it has kicked in, the bass is kind of drowned out by everything else and is very hard to hear.

The pads around 1.36 onwards for the breakdown...beef them out, they are a little soft atm, layer them up and maybe stagger their introduction into the song and have the rising in volume?

Like I say, dont want to sound harsh, just trying to help. For a first attempt, it is very good, I have heard many many songs that are worse by people who have been producing for a year or so. Stick with it and keep learning cause there is definite potential imo

Thanks for the feedback guys! Ever since making this track I've learned so much more about production

Redwingz, thanks for the pointers, definitely what I was looking for. As for the length of the intro well a lot of early stuff by brisk and ham, vagabond etc on blatant beats / next gen records used to have long intros too and I was inspired by it at the time
