Does having a big name producer credited to a certain track influence your opinion on it? Have to admit I'm quite bad for this. For example I recently downloaded 'Don't doubt me' by Scott brown. In hindsight it's an extremely average track and the main reason I bought it was because of the artist. I made myself like the track enough to hit the download button and now I've played it a few times I've come to think that any up and coming producer could've made it and I wouldn't of gave it a second listen, if at all.
For me it highlights just how difficult it must be for the producers desperately trying to break through in the scene. It seems that unless they have the backing or are good mates with top tier dj's then they basically have no chance of making it to the desired level. There's loads of amazing tunes out there that don't get the airtime they deserve and if you were to swap the up and coming producers name for a well established artist then that tune would probably be a hardcore anthem. If anyone has links to these kind of tracks please post. Here's a couple of mine:

We like what we like, and we tend to have biased in favor of things / people /artists we like. I'll admit I almost bought that SB release as well just because it was SB. Not his best tune, but it was enjoyable.
This happens in all genres of music. Human nature I suppose.
I completely agree with your second statement, about there being lots of good tunes out there but not having a big name to get it recognized. Fortunately it is a hell of a lot easier to share music and get exposure, especially with Soundcloud. On the other hand, those golden gems will be buried in a sea of thousands and thousands of songs.

Agreed it is human nature and will happen in other genres. Guess I just get nostalgic with some artists such as Scott brown. When I think of the tunes he used to produce back in the day it's obvious that he's got a great talent for making hardcore and I just assumed that there must be something I wasn't getting after listening to that tune the first time. So bought it and made myself listen again and again until I realised it wasn't great. PS. I don't mean to single out this particular track it's just my most recent example, there's many more.
Yes it's much easier for up and coming producers to get themselves heard than it used to be, but it's diluted with a load of crap at the same time. I regularly go on trackitdown to check out new releases but sometimes after listening to a few new tracks that are terrible I get bored and just look for bigger, more established artists instead. To find good music you really need to have a lot of time and patience which is a shame as there's so many great tunes getting overlooked.

your right on some level but for me even if it is a big name I don't force myself I'll listen to small names and big names and just see if I like the track, it's why I sub to a lot of youtube channels that post small names because sometimes they have amazing tracks

It's normal that success will attract deep-dipping areselickers who will tell you how fantastic your work is, no matter how utterly devastating it actually was.
And before someone starts to moan about my opinion: I am aware that there are different tastes out there and respect them, but there are a few borders that shouldn't be crossed at all.
Actually it would be quite interesting to know how the producers/DJs judge the work of their colleagues to saying it in a slightly more provoking way.......... their competitors. 
Sometimes I feel like it's more common to give each other a pat on the back so that everyone feels well pleased.
