i was in the middle of listening to one of the tracks i'm thinking of submitting to ppf2 when the sound cut out i thought it might just be fl being awkward as usual so i thought **** it i'll chill and watch a film but i'm getting no sound at all i thought it could be my hdmi cable so i switched it for another one but i still have no sound anyone got any idea of whats causing it????

Restart your computer if you haven't already. It could be so many things. Start with the most obvious, even if you think it is too obvious.

i think it's competly buggered now it's been stuck at the welcome message you get at startup for nearly an hour now i'm totally confused it was working fine now it's not even gonna startup i could scream until my head implodes

sounds like you need a system restore.
Try getting onto fail safe mode (press F8 for atleast 1 time per second before the windows boot logo appears)

You don't need to go into safe mode for that. Just right click on my computer. It's also only an option if he has it turned on.
Try taking the sound card out and turning the computer on and see if it loads.
