It still is. Audio editing is something that lets FL down a bit along with the mixer routing in comparison to Cubase. I own both though and still choose to work in FL for most projects. I can get things done much quicker and hear no difference in the overall sound personally. According to those in the know it's now mathematically impossible for them to sound different in fact.

Yeah. Yet when i did transition from FL the first time i thought it did sound better. Can't tell you why. But that is completely insignificant anyway compared to actual ability in making music even if there was a difference. Especially if you consider what people were producing with in the early 90's.

I haven't tried Cubase of course, but I quite like Edison for editing waves ;o

That is the beauty of Cubase. You don't don't need an external wav editor and they are a hassle compared to just doing it in Cubase in the same project you are working in.

Consider yourself flamed.

You can just do all that in the playlist in Cubase though without having to open a VST. Can zoom in much closer to finely chop things, raise and lower volumes anywhere in the WAV etc. without having to save new files and all that. Very handy.

No ones going to flame you. Not rightfully anyway. It's far more than good enough to make good music.

Well going back a few versions FL did have an inferior sound engine so perhaps it was prior to them balancing things out? These days though it's just as capable. Has left it with a bad stigma though unfortunately.

Also could have been your playback quality settings or something along those lines?
