i've been using virtual dj & deckadance for a while now but now both seem to have stopped working i dunno if it's because of my laptop (i really need to get a new one i've had it for 2 years now and it's a 6 year old laptop i got it from a mate after mine was smashed up after my house got trashed) is there any decent djing software apart from the 2 i mentioned

Try reinstalling them. If that doesn't work there might be a problem with your audio configuration.

reinstalling worked with virtual dj thank god but deckadance still won't record and now when it plays the track the tempo keeps jumping from 180bpm to 56.5bpm every 3-4 seconds which is kinda wierd but **** it at least one of em works :)

virtualdj might have lost it's key-binds. Did you mess around with the key mapping settings?
Also, why aren't you using virtualdj's own recording settings*?

I'm hijacking this thread to go on a little rant.
When I bought an NI external soundcard for like 100 I got Traktor 2 for nothing. Fair play, that's very generous. When I bought a Numark N4 for about 350 I got offered 50 off VirtualDJ and would've still had to pay almost 200. It's insanity. I didn't pay.
Only reason I don't use Traktor all the time is that VDJ's scripting system lets me override defaults that are otherwise worthless to me with stuff like "if track is 85 bpm, pitch up 0.5, otherwise pitch up 1" etc.

ah, so if a track has a BPM lower than a specific BPM, you dont want the BPM to shift to much?
