I just picked up a bottle hearing that it makes you remember dreams better along with helping me sleep better. Does anybody do the same. Does it work?

I have used 5-HTP which I believe helps the body with the production of both serotonin and melatonin. I can confirm I have experienced some pretty vivid and messed up dreams after taking it.

Well it's the sleep hormone that already naturally occurs in the body. So theoretically yes. 5-HTP is great stuff, weather or not you need it.

Out of interest, where did you get it from? I'm going back a few years here, but Holland & Barrett's own-brand 5-HTP was insane! Probably because it contained Valerian Root and god-knows what else. I've tried 5-HTP from elsewhere, and all it did was level me out and sleep normally.

funnily enough it was from Holland and Barrett yes! Made a very noticeable difference to my dreams. I still have some in the drawer at home but I imagine it's past the best before... Guess it'll probably be fine though!

I wondered if it was from H&B.... You either had amazing dreams, or seriously ****ed-up dreams/nightmares. Not touching that shit ever again :P Can't believe it went retail tbh.

Haha I love it man. Only ever had dreams that are ****ed up in a good way personally. I've only had one proper nightmare in the last 10+ years and I don't think I had taken that at the time.

There is a reason for not remembering most of your dreams. Your body recovers and your brain orders and memorises stuff during sleep. To do that, the brain switches off the parts that are responsible for doing things according to a plan, morality or sanity. That's why dreams are messed up (in good or bad ways). So, you are a bit of an insane person during sleep, but cannot harm anybody because the brain also switched off your movement ability in order to recover your body.
Dreams are not meant for real life. There are accidents during cleaning session ;) I'm tired...

I'll stick to regular 5-HTP if I need it. Not touching H&B's brand again. Most of the twisted dreams were really cool, nice and vivid....but there were a few bad ones too. One of which prompted me to stop there and then. Ugh.

They no longer include valerian in it by the way. The only other ingrediants are vitamins.
