My decision to never get a car seems to have been a right decision :)

where I lived in IL there were quite a few privatised roads, their roads were much better than here.

If they're building new toll roads it doesn't bother me, it's if they put toll booths on existing roads I'd be pissed. Saying that, I live in the sticks so I'm mainly on small country roads anyway.

Thing is, I tend to find out motorways and A roads OK, it's the smaller ones that are like swiss cheese.

Politicians are supposed to be the voice of the people, they take what the country wants and make it happen...

In reality, they're businessmen who use their country to make money. Load of bollocks!

Don't understand the need for privatised roads, what's wrong with existing roads?

It could well be a tempary passing thing though I suppose, and then things might go back to Normal.

Its when they start charging people for using cycle paths, that Alarm-bells should really start ringing in people heads.
And people should start sharpening they're axes.

the argument will be something to with more people on the roads than every before, more traffic jams happening on major roads and trying to ease some of that - I don't think its a priority thing for the govenment - its just a speach with the PM is making, he makes tons of them on all sorts of things the press are just highlighting it.

I dont actually drive myself. Where I live, if I wanted to drive I would have to pay 20 a month for parking JUST for the priviledge of keeping a Car.

This thread's reminded me actually this was the thing I forgot to put in my diary.
Thanks OP.

I need to lubricate my whole Bicycle and possibly clean it first, then buy some more more mud-guards, the rear part of the front mud-guard broke off.
I love my trusty bike, got it stollen once, but got it back in a Police raid which was fortunate.
:-)

You get such a sense of accomplishment cycling just 5 miles you know, I might cycle from Reading to Newbury one day.
Which I could easily do.
If they ever charge me for (that) I am buying an axe.

the government practically are the media, well they control most of the tv channels anyway, they literally own the bbc.

the only media you can trust these days is independent news stations like infowars, russia today etc

I think most of what we are seeing today is 60+ year Old men and woman MP's waking up from they're Timewarp, and being thrown into the 21st century, and not entirely understanding the priorities of the voters of today.
....Probably... ???

Also this is the very reason I cancelled my TV licence and stopped reading the papers.
You will find your are more relaxed, I just block it all out now.
I've found my rants have gone down, my mood stabilized, and my outlook changed.

You should do the same, until you have all done a course on Critical thinking. I have to admit I think I have made arguments and points, with no substantial evidence to back it up.
JUST BECAUSE i get so worried about stuff like, well what the OP was saying, because I {(feel)} powerless to stop threats, perceived or otherwise.
And other things, mostly rightly-so at the Shock stories in the tabloids, and the general Guerilla warfare the Journos, many of whom have a half-life of 1000 years (FilthyRich&Catflap reference, LOL).

I decided about 2-3 months ago I cant really trust papers anymore, or websites, or TV, or anything, until have the naturally formed mental tools to my disposal.
Otherwise this is all just barking in the dark
(something "They" probably want)

That is not to say I am ignorant, because its all academic, because I would still be ignorant with out the Tools you need to properly assess and scrutinize information so It becomes properly absorbed bypassing the unhelpfull filters of incriticaly formed forms of ego, fear, loathing, anger, disgust, and hate, and so is legitimate.
