I've been wanting to try my hand at Hard Trance for a while and as I've always thought this would make a good Hard Trance track here it is. :P Would love to hear peoples thoughts on this, I'm sure it's a little rough around the edges as I'm just learning the sound.
I'll probably use a different alias when I get to that point but not sure on a name yet!

Hard Trance seriously suits your production style man. That was absolutely glorious!

Cheers mate! :) I've always loved my Hard Trance so a lot of my productions probably have a hint of it in there anyway lol. I loved having all the extra space working at a lower bpm gives you actually, gives room for a few different things. I think I'll be doing more.

Sounds really good. I've long been of the opinion that freeform dj's just keep selecting 45rpm for their hard trance tunes.
About the song. It really really needs a bassline. I'm not talking an almost subaudible subliminal thing that it sorta currently has, but a big fat driving bassline. The kick is good and solid, but the track is really lacking the power that comes from a strong bass. Due to that it feels sort of empty and lacking I think. imo.
Even if you don't go overboard with it, it needs to make a presence.

Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback! Perhaps I need to give the bass more mid and high presence so it cuts through everything a bit better. Will give it a bash tonight. :)
Agree with you on the Freeform, lots of it deffo borrows very heavily from Hard Trance.

My idea of what Hard Trance should sound like does stem quite majorly from the fact that I'm a very big fan of Bas & Ram in their harder days. Stuff like speed of light, bells, rendez vous makes me creme a little. Some people even go as far as calling it hardstyle. They're wrong, but the sentiment is nice.

Yeah I do love the Dutch/German harder Hard Trance sound. It really paved the way for Hardstyle I think. All of the illegal raves over here back in the early - mid 2000's used to rock all the harder Tracid Traxx, Uberdruck, etc. stuff before Hardstyle came along, good times. 8)

Oh yeah! This is a very budding idea. I agree with the lack of the bassline. I would try to install some kind of high tone sparkling sound in the background during the middle part of the break (0:40 - 0:53) as well.

Right I've done an update! Hopefully the bass is sorted now? Added another layer with a bit more mid - high end. - http://soundcloud.com/audio-warfare/audio-warfare-operation

Cheers mate. :D I've not really heard a lot of EBM TBH, certainly nothing recently. Link me up to something good! :)

Ah thank you man and cheers for the feedback. As I said above hopefully the bass sounds fatter now. I think I know what sort of thing you mean by sparkling sound, I'll try some things out. :)

Ooh i'm digging this! Didn't hear the first version but this is lovely. And as an added bonus, you could pitch it up to make a freeform monster! 2 for the price of one, where do i sign?

Thanks mate, glad you like it. :D No reason to mess around pitching it up either - http://soundcloud.com/audio-warfare/audio-warfare-operation-scatter-aw008-b ;)

really like it, thanks for adding more bass.
In the second section of the main melody, at 2:02 you can start to here hints of that acid underlayer. However, it doesn't really come out until about 2:17. Any reason you left it so long?

No worries mate, glad to hear what I've done has helped. :) A load more tracks are going to follow this one! Will be remixing a few of my Freeform bits and I have loads of new ideas too.
Not really. :P I could certainly bring it up sooner. Will have a play with the automation. Cheers, really does help when people pick out the little touches for improvement! I get so absorbed in what I'm doing it is easy to miss things like that.

heh heh, I know what you mean. I was trying to mix a band and was having some trouble with the drums. Guy comes up to me and asked if I'd tried moving the mic's. No, no i hadn't.
