Ok Ravers,
Just want to get your opinion about 'Shuffling' to HHC music> Cool or Not Cool? You know how people shuffle to Hardstyle and Electro , (can you shuffle to Dubstep?)
What HHC tunes would be good to shuffle to ?
I was thinking a lot of the CLubland series..
What's your opinion about this? Cheers.

There isn't a set style to dance to Hardcore so it doesn't bother me what people do. I don't think there are (or should be) particular tunes that would be best to shuffle to. The only question would be what to do during breakdowns cos you'd look daft dancing to no beat whatever the style!

I'm not too big on choreography for rave music, personally. Just wave your arms like a retard, move your legs to the music, have a good time. That's all that matters, really.
If you want to shuffle, that's your business, I won't say it's wrong. ^^

The more i think about it, the more i think you'd need robotic legs to be able to successfully shuffle to Hardcore for more than about a minute at a time!

This is the key thing. I think it looks stupid but i couldn't give a shit who does it or not, it's not mine or anyone elses bussiness. If you have some dance routine planned out then you're obviously not drunk or otherwise wasted enough though.

What happened to Hakku dancing? And what was c-stomping? I remember in Atlanta, the older ravers taught me some dance to HHC (when Atlanta was still promoting HHC music) where you put one foot in front of the other over and over (kind of like a Russian-style dance)...but I don't remember what it was called.

Because of the lack of any harder sounds in my local area, I am actualy forced to go to House/Minimal/Electro club nights most of the time. I do shuffle (or at least what I probably think it is ). Compared to the persons, you can watch at youtube, I suck as hell, but otherwise tmo the majority of those dancers are way too strict and look sterile. Especially the Hardstyle ravers look like they are heading for technical perfection only and lost the passion totaly, which should be No. 1 of your own personal dancing style. I think you can atually see, if a person likes, what she's/he's doing during dancing: it's a passion.
Now let's come back to Shuffling to Hardcore:

I agree with you for most of the modern Hardcore tracks and especially Freeform Hardcore. But older Hardcore was around 160 bpm "only" most of the time (at least the tracks I know). If anyone can shuffle to Hardstyle, it must be possible for HHC as well. Maybe it's a bit more minimalistic style of Shuffle than the ones, which are used for House, Techno or Trance.
Sometimes I dance the "Running Man" while listening to a break, where only half of the kicks are actualy played up (f. e.: Lost Soul - Garden Of Eden).
Another point should be, that opposite to House and Electro Hardcore uses more break phases. So if you shuffle for a minute only, it should be long enough to rave around and after that, you use the break to calm down, regenerate and catch your breath. Alternatively, you can do some smooth arm movements as well.
Brisbane Stomp has the image of being the dance style for Hardcore. I think it looks a little bit too ridiculous. I try to stomp a little bit, but jumping around like S3Rl is stupid. I don't doubt, it kind of looks insane, but I wanna dance and not qualify for next olympic's gymnastics competition. And besides that, you need to be realistic. You'll never be able to dance like this at a normal club night. Either you must be at a VIP Floor or you kick a lot of people in their faces.

Wonder what the oldskool ravers think about 'shuffling'? is it really just a copy of "Gabber-Dance"?

This! I've been going raving for years and I've never actually learned to dance properly. :P As long as you're having fun who cares what it looks like. There isn't really much of a "dance style culture" at UK events, everyone just goes mad. I've only ever seen a handful of people doing an actual dance routine. I do like to watch other people shuffle though, looks pretty cool when done well.

How do people not get that you just half the speed (of the bpm of the music) that you do it? Lol. That's obvious to me and i don't even 'dance'.
