this venue is the same one that hullabaloo was held at in its final years, the only difference is that these guys are doing a way better job overall with the parties being held there.
nice long high quality video if any wants to take a look. didn't go myself, has been years since i've been there but it's being thrown by a few old friends and i can already see that theyre going to go on to do great things. going to try to make it down for the biggest hardcore party toronto has seen since the 90's (in the promoters words - and the lineup already sounds incredible).
joey riot and fracus are somewhere in this video...
check it out, peeps from across the pond:

I don't think it's fair to put down hullaballoo. They were some of the best events I've EVER attended.
With that said, the Toronto rave scene is nice and healthy and that was a really fun event. Love that venue!

I agree. if they weren't doing "a good job" they would have never lasted as long as they did

i'm more laughing at the fact that someone actually would drop a track like that at an event. i mean over the radio or as a track on ur mp3 players is ok, but to throw it down where ppl pay to get in? lol sorry that's a no-no
to me that just sounds like you're too cheap to buy tracks so you use whatever's available for free
btw not sure what remix it is.

Wtf! Even if the NYAN song sucks (I dislike it): I think it creates fun and joy right at the moment, when it gets played. Tmo a lot of people take things way too seriously these days... it's a rave!
Great video, which is making me jealously.

There is nothing funny or joyous about it though, it's incredibly lame in its original form and even more so as a remix.

My thoughts exactly. And I'm also thrilled to see how healthy and productive the Toronto scene has become in the last few years. I was afraid that after the last Hullabaloo and Goodfellaz parties Hardcore would leave town completely, but it definitely isn't the case. We also have Chris Unknown coming for Halloween as well as Technikore and Re-Con playing in November.
I loved that video, thanks for posting! I found myself singing along and dancing near the stage a few times in it :P
Even if Toronto is quite a few hours away from my hometown Montreal (5 by car, 8 by bus), I've never refused a road trip for worthy events such as this one, and I've been doing it since I was 17 in 2004. I even rode alone for Flying Circus, as there was no way I would miss Joey Riot and Fracus.

it's no secret that i loathe anabolic frolic.
hullas were awesome parties but what daydream has done already, decor-wise looks better to me than any of the shit frolic threw together. daydream is a step ahead, is all i'm saying.
obviously being on the other side of the country i have not actually attended any of these parties but they appear to be better than any of the 10 or so hullabaloo events i remember attending.

The last daydream event looked awesome. However, the last Hulla looked just as good. I remember giant 3D pacifiers and stuff hanging from the ceiling!
Either way, I'm glad the Opera house is back in full effect. I hope to play there at some point!

^ See you all at TRR6!
I know I don't really post on these boards anymore but I figured I might as well say hello to some HHC.com members when I'm over there.
