Same for any kind of music. I always fall into the live atmosphere lark about a warm-up act, buy the cd & realise It's slower and lacking the live energy of being live. Hardcore is no different sadly

You're a bit behind the times haha, they were selling it when i first started going to big raves in like 2004. I thought they stopped doing it though? Either way though it is legal or they wouldn't be selling it. That's not to say that the sellers are meant to sell it for recreational use but what they don't know...

laughing gas? you bunch of weirdos lol

Luckily I haven't been disappointed at what the few acts I've been lucky to see have played. Gammer, S3RL & Kevin Energy played great sets when I went to see them and it was all a variety of kinds of hardcore. surprisingly Gammer didn't overdo the minimal tracks and played some great stuff. Kevin did play a bit more happier hardcore since it is the US and we eat it up, but he threw down some harder stuff and freeform and the crowd ate it up!

Haha I don't think I'd ever just buy a tune based on hearing it at a rave, I'd have to review the idea in a few days time (after I've recovered). I'd be bankrupt if I purchased everything I enjoyed at a party. Sounds like you guys had a laugh though, wish I could have made it to this. Should come along to westfest at the end of October, you know it makes sense. ;)

I've seen loads of laughing gas stalls at raves but technically it's illegal. People take **** off big canisters of it to free parties/illegal raves and people just throw their baloons all over the place (generally in protected beauty spots). It's a ****ing nightmare and gives the police one more thing to use against the soundsystems. It's shit and I don't know what all the fuss is about really. :-/ 1-2 for something that lasts 20 seconds, fook that. If you're going to do drugs do it properly. ;)

I know exactly what you mean but don't forget these songs were made for that (for clubbings/raves) and I myself have also often heard tracks at raves where I thought "wow! I need to get this" but the next day when I heard the song on my speakers or headphones... meh! Every song sounds different on each sound system, but in this case it's a bit like using a race car to go to the mall, it wasn't done for that :) even if we like to listen at home.

I think it's that you appreciate them differently at raves more than they are made for raves. I doubt they are made specificaly for raves and nothing else.

I do think they are made for that, even when I don't drink anything there are song I appreciate because they just sound so different on a big sound system :) I also sometimes played songs which sounded "wow" on the dancefloor (and they worked) whereas at home I thought they were "ok" ...

And over here you can buy laughing gas at gas stations! lol, not illegal at all, at least not over here. Used it sometimes and I have to say it's pretty funny :P It took me some seconds to even realize I was laughing, I couldn't feel my mouth anymore :P

I've never heard of it actually making anyone laugh lol. It's just a pleasant but short-lived high.

To realise it's full potential you need to take it on top of other drugs (like MDMA). Never done it but they definately potentiate each other hugely.

Have done, still shit. ;) Nah it is a nice buzz, especially when coming up but taking into account the time it lasts and cost it just isn't worth it. Expensive poppers basically... I did a double baloon when smashed on Ket and MDMA once and that really ****ed with my head. When I looked up everyone had the same head and they where all staring at me, including those that weren't even facing me. Freaky stuff.

I've seen it being done loads and done it a fair few times myself and not once laughed or seen anyone laugh after using it. They used to use it in dentists and if it made people laugh it wouldn't have been ideal for carrying out complicated work on peoples teeth. ;)

Hmm maybe I'm talking about something else then, it's called "lachgas" in german which means, well.. laughing gas.

Maybe it depends also on how much you take, I read that it can lead to hallucinations also!

Well that seems to be the same thing from what I can see on Google, it's nitrous oxide (N2O). It doesn't directly make you laugh, it wouldn't matter how much you took. However the sense of euphoria could cause someone to laugh I guess but that doesn't mean it is a direct cause of the drug, just someone finding the high amusing.
