The final volume (I believe it's the final volume someone correct me if I'm wrong) has now been released @ TID, and will be on other markets in 2wks. Another great, or formerly great depending on your viewpoint, label has made it to 100, and will likely continue.
What's everyone's thoughts on the overall EVO100 project? Personally I thought it was a little bit of a letdown as I felt that there wasn't anything that revolutionary about the project, although it did have a few tracks that definitely stood out. I have yet to buy any of the tracks but I do plan on buying some of them. More than likely some of the tracks will grow on me after some time.

didnt like it at all. Only great thing is that Scott allowed more to remix his tracks, buta few of them where pointless, or should have been served as a funny free download (*cough chiptune cough*)

Wasnt a huge fan really. Admire what he's done and what the aim is, but when you look at the pedigree that the NEC has cooked up and the amount of new upcoming freeform artists, it just looks like Evolution has has found some lesser known artists and stuck their remixes onto a release.
The hardbeats Collective have been developed as top class artists over a sustained amount of time - Similar to Manchester United's class of 1992
The Evolution kids have basically been signed on the cheap and by the dozen for one release - Similar to Arsenals budget army of 2011
Not having a dig at any of the Evolution remixers, some of them did a good job, such as Andy Dee, but its more the concept of the final release itself.

I bought at least 2 from each volume so can't complain about it overall. Was always intended to be a combination of remixes and new talent so got what i expected. Maybe it hasn't had the massive impact a landmark release might have but could have been worse. I'm very interested in hearing what comes next...

if you don't know where to find these tracks on your own, then you don't deserve to be alive ;)
