There's been like a huge increase of male vocals in Hardcore. It makes it sound like sped-up pop music. (except for Ant Johnson) The occasional song here and there with male vocals is alright, but it makes the music too mellow because usually, there is nothing done with the vocal sample to hype it up.

I think you'll find the music sounds like that all by itself lol. The vocals don't help though.

Well, the male vocals aren't a great tag along. What happened to Cat Knight, Alison Wade, Lisa Marie, Lisa Abott, & Donna Marie?

I am also not a fan of male vocals for electronic music in general. Sometimes they work but most time they sound out of place to me.

I gotta say I prefer female vocals too (I always did, in all music genres) but in hardcore they are kinda... boring? Its like most of the singers have same voices, and none of them is neither special nor specially edited (like Hixxy and Vocal Trance artists do). So I don't prefer Hardcore vocals' tradition in general.

I think male vocals work best in House & Eurobeat music.

I used to remember the days when hearing MC Junior on a track was brilliant, it broke up all those monotonous female vocal tracks!

I love female vocals just as much as the next person, but I don't have anything against the "idea" of male vocals. There are loads that I like. I prefer female overall, but I don't dislike male.

I don't mind male vocals at all.
But do almost all vocals need to be pitched up?

For me, rapper MCs are different. I prefer them as males.

I personally didn't find many of them pitched up in the original. Keylocking during the mixing can result in quality lacks so it's better to turn off the keylock - and also, DJs seem to like to do some pitching up.

I've never liked male vocals with Hardcore. I just don't think it sounds right & i would struggle to find 5 tracks that i actually do like. There are far too many tracks with male vocals in nowadays & is one of the reasons i don't listen to much new stuff anymore.

the vocals on the original pretty green eyes are terrible, i've often wondered why so many people love that track so hard - i much prefer the revamped version on Bonkers 10.

I dont mind them. Professionally done they sound great. Ready To Rave, Runaway, Dont Go, I'm not prejudice against them. Would be nice to have more female ones though. I think they are in decline.
BRING BACK THE CLUNGE!
