for punk rock, i prefer Offspring
for fast rock/metal, i prefer someone who doesnt have english as main language to sing, gives it a more authentic vibe. With the exception of Dragonforce - Through the fire and flames :)

Offspring have done some pretty wicked stuff actually. Always love the kids aren't alright:
Also liked Pennywise, NoFX, Millencolin, Rancid, Less Than Jake, Voodoo Glow Skulls. Was just digging through all these old CD's the other day actually and giving them a blast.

The Kids aren't alright gotta be their best.
Can't Repeat is also a good track. I read somwhere that it's a sequal to The Kids aren't alright

authentic? I'm not sure how vocals being in any spoken language makes them more or less authentic. If english is your native language then surely the most authentic example of it would be in english?

The rest of their album is shit imo. None of the other songs ive heard come together as well as that one.
I'm getting more and more into this sort of music and more and more away from edm. Most of the time it just sounds like there's so much more emotion involved rather than trying to 'fill the dance floor".
I love a lot of older punk/rock like pennywise, NoFX, Millencolin etc and other rock bands/artists like Linkin park (possibly some of the most talented musicians i've ever heard imho) Marilyn manson, limp bizkit (older stuff), dead by sunrise, jimmy eat world, muse, sum41, AFI, evanescence, foo fighters, good charlotte, green day, grinspoon, unwritten law, system of a down, slipknot, nirvana etc...
Hell, even pop rock like blink 182, paramore, simple plan, new found glory etc are all bursting at the seams with emotion and meaningful undertones.
Rock has always held a lot of weight with me, and the older i get the more i realise it just dominates as a genre, and is in general just so much deeper than most music. It just feels more honest than most music.

The Kids Aren't Alright is an all-time classic. ****ing amazing tune.
As for the list of bands you've listed - **** me!, you have almost identical taste to me.

Massively disagree with that. That is an insanely strong album. All down to taste I guess.

Used to listen to a lot of punk rock before I got back into EDM. NOFX, Rancid, Pennywise, Less Than Jake, Rise Against, Descendents, etc. Mostly listen to Dead Kennedys or the Misfits if I want some punk these days tho, or some early Ataris if I want the cheesier edge.
