I feel terrible neglecting this topic!
Anyways, instead of creating a new topic i thought i'd just add this one on here. Rolling Stone magazine released top 10 worst songs of the 80s, apparently they took a poll.
10. Rick Astley- never gonna give you up
9. taco- puttin on the ritz
8. tony basil- mickey
7. bobby mcferrin- don't worry be happy
6. falco- rock me amadeus
5. men without hats- the safety dance
4. wham!- wake me up
3. chris de burgh- lady in red
2. europe- the final countdown
AND at #1. starship- we built this city
personally I was surprised that lady in red was in this one, seeing as I remember it being a very popular love song (to this day too).
feel free to give your opinions on this list, as well as add some of your personal favorite 80s songs

Interesting. Did they back up any of their postulations with reasons?
it wasn't the editor of the Rolling Stone magazine that picked them it was a vote amongst the readers. reading some comments, I think that a lot of their votes have to do with the videos. A lot of the videos are ridiculous, but i actually like a lot of those songs listed on there!

I want to see Puttin On the ritz by taco as a happy hardcore song. maybe a mash-up or remix. Really want to use that song in my mix!!!!!!

I think the 80's is by far the worst era of music within the era's of music that appeal to me at all (60's onwards). There are a few good tunes though. None of them synth pop however, that stuff is just awful, with the exception of Take On Me.
If no one has mentioned this yet then they should have done:
