Sure, there was Bonkers, United Dance, Hardcore Heaven, etc, but unless you were in with the DJ, there really wasn't much word floating about of those albums here in the States. We also had the HiGHborn Label which churned out a very small amount of albums/vinyl, and then there is some rare cd I own called "Hardcore Energy 2000" by DJ Mindcontroller that I can't find any information on whatsoever, yet it's on amazon, and has a upc code on the case. Also, thanks to file sharing, people who would share the Happy2bHardcore albums would label the artist for every song as "Anabolic Frolic", so many people thought he was an actual artist. I sent Frolic an e-mail years back and asked him for suggestions for other cds, and he told me about Bonkers, and that's how my collection started to grow. On a second note, Moonshine Music released these cds called "Speed Limit 140 BPM" that were a collection of DnB and HHC BEFORE Frolic released his Happy2bHardcore Ch. 1, it's just Happy2bHardcore were the 1st full on Happy Hardcore cds we had here in the states.
Yep I understand why, but I'm just sort of explaining the difference between the 2 scenes, sorry if it sounds like I'm lecturing but I just find it fascinating. But then I am all about the rave, constantly. Believe it or not when I first got into happy hardcore years ago my first track was pirated and it was Ravers Anthem which I later tracked down to be from H2BH 4 so I can sort of relate to you guys in that I never had bonkers or the others either, I've always been 100% H2BH I love that series and live by it. Also I still have an original mp3 I got from a P2P network years ago which is "Anabolic Frolic - Eurolove" I held onto it because it's evocative of the scene you guys have with misinterpreting who made the tracks and reminds me of how you guys didn't really care about names you just kind of love the music for what it is which is what I used to be like too despite all the exposure hardcore has had here those will always be my happy hardcore roots even if I'm across the pond. Yes I am very obsessed with your rave scene lol I have folders of pics from the raves you had back in 97 and stuff :P
...I've been into Happy Hardcore since 2002...you don't have to explain anything. I've gotten what you're saying since you're first few posts. I DON'T CARE about which term is proper for today's Hardcore, all I'm trying to get across is it would be nice for mixed cds of happy hardcore/UK Hardcore material floating around now.

lol i'm with warped you're spewing a bunch of stuff now and just b/c u know h2bh doesn't mean u know our scene. and you are wrong the dj here controls nothing it's the crowd and promoters, whereas over there the djs & mcs control everything
all hardcore djs here, even the more well-known ones here, have to work their ass off to get the gigs they get and have to truly perform to be asked back. they do their own self-promotion, and have to make sure that all their track selections are winners. even tho there are some that have a following, like jimni cricket in seattle & moonstruck red in TX, they still have to make sure they don't have too many tracks that stray from the norm of today's more "popular" hardcore.

A big one is never going to be made because all of the different compilations will be expect exclusives from certain labels.

there's really no need to jump down my throat about it. it's called idle chit-chat. I'm not trying to prove anything or correct you on terms. I saw in another thread you posted your personal definition of happy hardcore so I already understand your terminology. I'm just trying to have a conversation here and you're turning it into some kind of debate, and that applies to both of you.

I'm sorry, Neko. I didn't mean to come off ill, it's just the topic was branching off further and further from the original topic, that I just wanted the conversation to come back to mixed cds, not discussing scenes, term names, popularity, etc. *Gives you a piece of candy*
