all my fav hardcore producers end up leaving or quitting it.
Oh crap, Orbit1 left?
he migrated to hardstyle and then stayed there. he's just been tying up loose ends in hardcore until recently
That's something to check out then...
What was his reason for stopping? Money? Drama? Musical tastes?
Orbit1 left because the big inspiration and drive in hardcore music that inspired him to produce was gone. I think it was the party vibe in the music he liked so much.
I think this taste or influence radiated more from hardstyle eventually.

He used it to pay bills and pay back debts. Big mistake in my eyes.
The digial scene is far too competitive and saturated for its own good. The money in the industry is spread so thin between producers running their own labels and whatnot, theres not enough being made on each release. 20 is the return for a high ranking track in the tid top 100.

Ahh well, they'll always be another one waiting in the wings to take his place. It's not like he's a huge name or anything.

yeah hardcore isn't profitable really. I won't lie, as much as I have a passion for the music I'd also love to be a big music star and make serious bucks but I know in hardcore at the moment the only way to do that is to keep up with the trends and follow them, and I wouldn't ever sacrifice my enjoyment of the music for that. I'll make and play the music I like whether it's popular with the mainstream or not.
And as for orbit1, that figures as Australia loves its hardstyle. So does some places in the US, I have to say though I have seen very few hardstyle DJs playing over here but it's not really my scene so..

If you're selling a decent amount of downloads AND getting decent, regular gigs then there is a living to be made from Hardcore. If you only manage one or the other you've got no chance - whoever you are.

I love Hardstyle, who here hates it?
I do! Well, I dislike it! "Hate" is too strong to be used for my feelings about Hardstyle. I can listen to it and yeah some songs even do make fun, but here are two major things I dislike about Hardstyle:
1) Most of it sounds like painfully slowed down HHC and Gabba. Have people become too lazy to listen to fast music?
I already hated artists at the end of 90's, who produced HHC-like tracks and slowed them down to the speed of Trance. This always has erased the power and energy of those tracks, giving me a weird head.
2) It's getting pushed way too much than it's worthful tmo.
