Hi and welcome :)

Actually, the genre is called Breakbeat Hardcore! It is just like Hardcore but it has Breakbeats instead of the 4-to-the-floor kicks (untz untz untz). Do not confuse with normal Breakbeat, which is much slower :)

Cheers!

Jesus christ. It's Hardcore. Breakbeat Hardcore is Hardcore. There is no confusion :) The label says it all, JAL is a Hardcore label.

Yes... but Breakbeat isn't Hardcore... see, you do exactly the same mistake haha. NORMAL Breakbeat is a completely different genre, and that's what causes confusion ;)

I know it may seem strange because when we say 'Breaks' we will usually think of Breakbeat Hardcore, but 'Breaks' is like 120 bpm and has absolute nothing to do with Hardcore :) Just wanted to make this clear as many people do the mistake and people who are REALLY into Breaks (and not Breakbeat Hardcore), may give you strange faces. For us it is normal because we are into Hardcore but that's it :)

Well there is no confusion there, Breaks is not breakbeat. Breakbeat is a non-specific word.

Yeah, I mess up with the Break-terms as well. But I am starting to get the picture of Breakbeat, Breakbeat Hardcore and Breakcore.

Hardcore Breaks -> 140 BPM stuff, imitation of the early Hardcore before it became faster
Breakbeat Hardcore -> 170 BPM stuff, imitation of the early Hardcore after it became faster
Breakcore -> 200 BPM stuff, distorted kicks, amens and often reggae vocals
Breakbeat/Breaks -> 120 BPM stuff with.. breakbeats :)

Breakbeat is just a way of describing the beat. The other things you listed are genres.
