No relation to Hardcore. However good tune and better than the Hardcore stuff that was around then which was largely very poorly produced based on over-used poor quality samples (this isn't true for everything but it's true for a lot of it).

I don't think 20 years ago these samples were "over-used" and bad quality for that time ;)
It's a good song, but Smoogie, "Oldskool" can be anything, not just Hardcore. There is Oldskool Hip-Hop aswell for example, which is from the 1970's. And there are Oldskool mobile phones and Oldskool computers as well, actually pretty much everything can be "Oldskool"

quality could be poor because they used 22khz samples on amigas? =P

Well, that's partly the reason, although the real reason is just the lack of skill gone into the songs. Although at the time given the equipment used it would have been good.

Tmo I classify this as early Eurodance. Those days it was called Hip House.
This was the first Eurodance sound after its development from Electro Pop.
There are some familiuar songs I remember from 1989/1990/1991:
Or all the Technotronic stuff from back then, which I can't post, because they were all erased in my country on youtube. List of songs: Pump Up The Jam Get Up (Before The Night Is Over) This Beat Is Technotronic Rockin' Over The Beat (Feat. Ya Kid K) Move That Body (Feat. Reggie)
