I don't know if your research into the 'good old days' also describes the crap that was left behind by the selfish, pissed and drugged ravers after an illegal rave,
not just empty crisp packets and beer cans but crap, real crap, used condoms, tampons, needles and syringes etc etc. Not much peace, love and respect to be found there.... 8(

Where we live that's considered a good night out.

and no, this was never an 'anthem', ffs.
It's shit at best, certainly no better than average.

Anyone who's done drugs at raves knows they are just full of people who get completely messed up and actually have a real problem, in many cases.

Not Breakcore, nor Hardcore Breaks but -> Breakbeat Hardcore
And not even sure of that one, sounds a bit like Acid House or something...

I did a lot of raving in my time - never saw a syringe. Just saying lol.
People didn't play everything - but there was more interesting music because every record was "new". There were no styles, no divisions, just a huge amount of original music. So its not true to say everything back in the day was fantastic, but at least everything was interesting.
Also, this track became an underground anthem, but it depended where in the world you were when it came out. It also took its time - some tunes burst onto the scene and instantly sell well (Six Days) others trickle out, but keep selling and selling and selling (Piano Progression). No internet meant stuff was not universal - so while this tune was huge in London, it was probably ONLY huge in London - I cant see that it went off in Scotland, and the USA had no clue about raving, so certainly couldn't be called an anthem as we now know the word.
It should be remembered that a tune like this being big in London meant it probably outsold any one of the hardcore releases in 2010. Not a dig at modern hardcore, just saying size / sales figures were vastly different then and now.
Thats my 36pence worth lol.

at least we never thought that much of it and there was a lot worse but there wasn't much that wasn't played
and I'm guessing there's a good chance that at some point we were in Danny's shop the same time as you.... if only you'd known. You could have asked for our autograph.

agreed, even nowadays at the warehouse illegals of the M25 and stuff I've never seen syringes either just a lot of that weird black rave-grime that seems to accumilate on the ground in places and ends up on your arse when you try and sit down.
never even heard of anyone jacking up at a rave tbh
I've never had a problem with anyone on drugs at raves, not even cokeheads. But drunk people...quite a few times. Sometimes wish there was no booze for the problems it causes

Agree about the booze but disagree about there being no syringes, not common it's true but it's depressing what you find when clearing up the mess in the cold light of the following day.... :-/
