Hi guys the reason I joined this website is to get some advice.
Im 22 and have a passion so deep for hardcore when I hear it It sends me crazy every hair on my body stands on end!
I thought its about time I started DJing this stuff myself there isn't enough hardcore djs out there when I go out raving round town or even to a house party.
I just need some advice on buying my first DJing equipment really? Not got a clue what im doing as of yet so where do I start??
Hope you guys can help me happy hardcoreing ppls :)
Joe

These days you'd be best to either buy CD decks or a PCDJ set up. I would suggest buying something very cheap to begin with just so you can try it out for yourself, or if you have friends who have equipment ask to use theirs once in a while. Mixing can be a very frustrating experience to begin with and it's not for everyone. No point in shelling out a few grand for expensive gear if you're not going to follow it through to the end.

I dont have CD decks though, just vinyl - and one of them is buggered at the moment!
we'll have to meet up sometime, i have a wife who doesnt really care about DJing and a Son who isnt old enough to yet (he's two) so it would be nice to meet up with someone like-minded!

DJing (well, mixing) is all frustration frustration frustration, then you get the hang of it and it's dead simple! That's when you can start "DJing" in the sense of learning, picking tunes, learning what does and doesn't clang and that's pretty much a learning experience for life but it's reallly good fun.
I would say that once you know you want to definitely do DJing to shell out on some decent decks, mixers come and go all the time but a good pair of technics/pioneers will last you longer and work out much cheaper in the long run than buying not so good decks that you have to replace every 2 years. But it's entirely up to you, doesn't matter what you mix on, once you start getting good you'll know exactly what you want!

cool cool, i'm on facebook if you use that... [email protected] Soulsides in kendal town do a Dubstep/House/Minimal Techno night, hardcore seems to be mostly non-existant round here though, you get the odd car pumping it out, but mostly people seem to be into bouncy, which isnt my scene at all lol.
maybe it'll just take one of us to start something up :) when we get our finances sorted it would be nice to look into it, get a hard dance/hardcore night going
