It's just one tune lol. You can't invent an entire genre every time something sounds remotely happy.
It's one example. There are many. Any recent wildstylez, noisecontrollers, zany, showtek release would fit that description.
At defqon Pavo played the darkest hardest hardstyle set that still had distorted kicks that I've ever heard. It actually became to much for me after a while and I had to withdraw. Most tracks had no melody whatsoever, similar to what d-block and s-te-fan used to play before they shot with the big guns, just way more.
on topic, a fair bit of later hard trance was quite happy, in the period towards its extinction, 04-07ish

It should because it's an entire genre rather than just 1 tune, or the occasional tune. There is enough tunes in the style for it to be a genre.
There was a lot of Happy House out and it may not be much of a recognised genre now because not enough of it is produced but if you check out your House music history and look into the scene you will find Happy House referred to a fair bit around 1995. I think the nearest modern day equivilent is "Warp House" but I haven't heard much of that myself.

To be honest i think the whole concept is ridiculous. What is Happy is subjective as has been so well displayed.

Which event? Sounds exactly the kind of thing I'd like lol (unless its recent then i almost definitely won't). Generally really like Pavo sets. His Sensation Black 2004 set is perfect, you should get it.

I'll check it. I meant defqon sydney a few months ago. It seemed to be all fairly recent productions, but nothing like i've ever heard before. The softest he played was some alpha twins stuff, which says volumes.

Would uplifting make you feel better?

The thread was meant to be about songs with Happy Vibes, not the philosophy of Happiness and how humans may percieve uplifting feelings. What is it with the nitpicking lately???
Gonna get this back on track with some non-hardcore happy stuff.
