http://bit.ly/b1LKed this is an amazing 2010 update... far veterans than the original yet keeping the main element, the riff... ****in awsum tune and bu far the best hardcore anthem of 2010
I think that tune is devoid of any emotion, much like most of DS' stuff these days. It's almost like he's just going through the motions now.
this tune means a lot to me... the lyrics are amazing.. we all have tunes that have a personal meaning, this is mine... if you listen to the album this is the only tune he sings that be sounds like he means every word.... this and cutting deep are by for his best vocal tracks... absolute stomper of a tune this... I can see this winning an award next year....
Each to their own. If it means something to you then fair enough.
it'll only win awards for its scope to the masses. Unfortunately Clubland can have its music heard by more people than Fracus and Darwin can.
they arnt as talented tho are they?
DS's talent is great. But his ability is limited by what sells. Darwin and Fracus have showed a remarkable amount of skill. Frankly, their music have more of an effect on me than Style's music. I wont compete with opinion, but I contest that Darren Styles has any more ability than even artists who've only a few digital releases.
its his actual song writing as in lyrics.... no one in hardcore writes lyrics like styles...
Because no one else in hardcore is so shit at writing lyrics.... His tracks, as people have said, are devoid in emotion.... They have no effect on me whatsoever... Take Flashlight, it just sounds like some shabby singing over a well mastered simple as **** track. I dont rate his singing much, and I dont rate his song-writing. To be honest, his remixes of tracks, and instrumental style tracks that we have the 'delight' of hearing are better. Tracks like 'Smack her like a bitch' and 'Light of my life' are a couple of example of his better tracks. Francis Hill sang in Light of my life too, and hes a fantastic singer compared to DS.
I agree his singing is a little..... but I'm not actually on about that... some of his love type songs as I mentioned above are meaning type songs...

Michael Mansion. ;)
A-men to that brother. Mansion is insane.
Styles writes good lyrics for hardcore music. If you want emotion, and to be cuddled by a song, listen to music from a different genre.
No matter how much you wish he wasn't around, or how much energy you want to put into discrediting him - to say that Styles doesn't have any more ability than people with a handful of digital releases is grossly inaccurate.

Look. I appreciate that Styles is a talented writer of music, and his end products are well mastered. I dont wish that he wasnt in the scene, I just dont think hes worthy of the money and praise that he gets for music that I feel that less appreciated producers who have achieved digital releases could produce. Two prime tracks that I think of are Flashlight and Sorry. There are others I could list. His vocal hardcore is poorly sung and not very technical (in the scence you get the basic percussion, melody, maybe some chords). He tries to put as little in it as possible, and while the track is clean, its boring at times. His freeform is still stuck in 2005 when he made tracks like Dropzone. Freeform has since progressed and whilst its good to hear Styles do something a bit more underground, his cliche Opera singing in the track cant redeem him. I think that Kev Energy and other Freeformists have more ability. Again, I appreciate his contributions and that some of his music is very good, but why the actual **** should he be earning more than Fracus or Darwin or half of Hardcores producers when they're productions are also very good?

You guys need to understand (I say this in all seriousness) that whether its crap or good doesnt really matter (usually crap), its all about connections and hype.
Look at rap, pop, Hardcore... simple and untechnical makes money.
Complex, devoted, passionate... does not.

True, and thats one of the most painful truths a hardcore producer can face.
They can love the genre, but are forced to remain in obscurity.

Isn't this true about any art form?

You can't be serious??? Track has no bass and sounds like an old Gatecrasher tune on 45 lol Is shit
Seriously mate, you really need to lay off the crack.
I think someone that always mentions crack is more likely to be one who smokes it. Judging by tour pick, you look like a junkie!!

Your one of those people that think it's makes them a hero to slate HTID and Clubland Extreme. But when someone says the truth about a track you like. Suddenly they are some kind of crack smoker. lol
