remember we aussies get trends a little later than you when talking about hardcore.
And not all of us are "in the know"
Apologies. Nothing nasty meant by it. It was just this bit that made me laugh. "Really liking Re-Con, Seduction, Gammer and Darren Styles as they seem to be making some awesome electro edged hardcore which is probably the freshest thing to happen to hardcore since the late 90's.
LOL Well you tell me what new sounds have happened in UK hardcore in the last ten years????? Has been nearly all trance riffed hardcore since 2000. Nothing new has really happened with productions for a whole decade. So electro in hardcore would be the freshest sound in the hardcore scene at the moment by a mile.
As for people slating Darren Styles and Re Con. I think we have a major case of tall poppy syndrome lol. As well as a lot of jealousy. Actually Darren Styles made a track called jealous. Maybe it was aimed at all the people saying harsh things about him:):)
These guys are at the top of the hardcore scene for a reason, because they produce good music that people like as well as experimenting with new productions styles. You can say you don't like his music and that's fair enough. But after listening to hardcore for 15 years. There aren't many djs that can sing, play piano and produce constant Anthems.
Forgot to mention Klubfilla too. Made an awesome remix of we are the Vampires.

JTS. He's making some of the best tunes I've heard for a long time and the quality of his productions are outstanding.

+1 notably resistance
also, i feel that the phase of using 8 bit sounds in hardcore was fresher than just mimicing other electronic genres....

5 EFM-7 not sure if he is still producing though.
He does. It's not much solo stuff anymore though, he produces with me mostly.
Lots to come though - watch out for a lot of new EFM-7 stuff to be released in early 2011 :)

Hhc had rarely sounded 8bit in the past. The main engineers used the early iteration of cubase for atari :p
