want does everyone think are the best decks ? for me 1210/1200s are best. i did like my TTX-1s until they died but Technics are miles better. just got another pair of Technics a 1200 & a 1210 MK2s & gotta say they beat TTX-1s hands down, its good to have another pair after my first set got nicked & they were only a couple of month old :o( nothing really beats the feeling of mixing on Technics.
TTX-1s are good on paper & worked well but mine died & nowhere was able to fix them. the extra pitch was fun to use but other then mucking about whos gonna play tunes at +/-50% everything sounds shit lol
id say only buy Technics as other makes have poor build quality & iv had alot of different makes over the years, Technics are built like a tank & can always be fixed if they brake which is unlikely anyways.

depends on what you're wanting to do with them. straight mixing, technic m5gs. turntableism, vestax pdxs or qfo or controller one

really happy with my TTX1's - mine are still going strong after 7 years, a country move, plenty of abuse and a glass of champaign! - don't think i've ever had to switch them to 50+- unless i was retarding about with acapella's, sometimes i slip into 20-+ with alot of the acapellas, but i usually keep them at 8-+
having owned both i find X1's much more fun to scratch on in comparison to 1210's as they feel nicer.
we see this conversation pop up less and less these days as vinyl falls on its face, last 3
events i went to i think i saw 1 DJ using vinyl out of about 50 odd DJs!
your original post just seemed to be x1's vs 1210s...but yeah - what with the way technology moves now the topic has mostly become unimportant
best decks? most of the higher end ones - for the different owners it's which ones suit them..
long as you have a cd burner to get your cds to the clubs ;)

kool think your one of the lucky ones to have had them last that long, as i say they are good dex just i didnt get much use out of mine before they died. they lasted about six months & were second hand so. i ended up selling them on eBay for 45 GBP each as faulty so at least i got something back for them, i paid 200 GBP for em with a mixer. i sold the mixer which tbh was crap for 30 GBP on eBay, now iv got a DJM 500 which im liking alot.
as for Technics MK5s i prefer MK2s myself, my mate has 1210 MK5s & although their good i duno why but i prefer my MK2s lol
iv tried CDJs & tbh i dont like them again too much like toys & they make mixing too easy imo. doubt i'l ever buy any vinyl is better imo.

1210's for me. I find the comparible decks from other suppliers have too much torque, break more often and have a lot of pointless extras. Mk3 have been my favourites as they don't have the annoying click of the mk2. Mk5's are all good but I never use the extra pitch available so they seem a bit pointless. Don't like all the blue leds either.

yeah i've definatly seen on forums people who have had problems with them, but ive never seen any stats, and the internet being the internet its hard to tell just how big or small a problem is
all i can speak from is my experience :) i know other people (offline) who have, and still have them without any issues, i've never personally met anyone who have had them die.
like cars and resturants really.
i'd like to get CDJ's to go with them, so much is switching to digital so it would be great to have that option also but im switching my money-focus to production stuffs at the moment

nice! love a bit of the ol woodwork!
mine is an Ikea Expedit (50) turned on its side, they're exactly the right height and the shelving turns into vinyl/cd/amp storage!

iv heard that Ikea stuff are pretty strong for storing vinyl etc do you find that they are ?

Loving the nice wedges of vinyl guys. I don't think I'll ever be tempted to part with mine.
