Here in the lovely land of America -.- Every other person believes that tiesto has made the greatest influence on electronic music. I personally beg to differ but when i state my opinion i'm automatically called "arrogant". -.- Who do you think has the biggest influence on electronic music?

Tiesto has had no influence on any music outside of Trance really, certainly nothing of any significance, he was only producing top tunes since around 1999 as well. Producing has never been his strong point and it's not really what he's famous for, it's his DJing. Aside from him there has been many strong influences but it depends what you mean. Technically you could go back as far as the 60s with this question.

he is 1 of the most recognizable dj/producers in the genre, but that doesn't make him influential. off the top of my head i can't think of anything that he has influenced, except when he played for the Olympic Opening Ceremony for the Athens 2004 games.

depends what you mean by influence on electronic music i guess.. i would have thought in general terms it would be the "most referenced artist" when asked the question "who are your influences?"
its like Matt said, he doesnt really have any influence outside of trance..
also the reason the american's are saying tiesto is because they dont know any other DJ's/Artists :P just because he is the DJs name on everyones forehead - doesnt mean when actual producers are in the studio they are thinking of him too!

Scooter produce so much 'electronic' music including HappyHardcore and Trance but the biggest influence is probably Prodigy and Chemical Brothers who always push the boundaries between Breakbeat Electronica and Punk-ish music

If it wasn't for paul oakenfold, danny rampling and nicky holloway taking a trip to Ibiza back in the 80s we wouldn't be here. Just sayin'!
