CD, WAV or FLAC is the future!
I don't really care in what format it's released on. Like I've said before, Music is sound, it's not something you touch, so why bother?
If OGG wasn't so poorly supported, it could be better than MP3 as it can go past 320kb/s

Argh! Last upfront track I got on vinyl was from NG. Ah well, I'm far more into DJing on vinyl and to be honest there are far better tunes available on vinyl than there are on 320 mp3 in fact there are so few of the latter that it doesn't make CDJs worth getting for me. I'm far happier mixing stuff I've found on discogs and there's so much of it out there that it should certainly tide me over until hardcore artists start putting out more stuff that I like!
As far as sounds, music, technology and so on goes I'm not keen on this whole "out with the old, in with the new" thing. Why can't the 2 co-exist? Same thing happens in every genre, sounds and tracks become 'old skool <genre name>' after we've dubbed them to a certain era and moved past that era, nobody has ever stopped and said "why can't we still produce the old sound? Why can't hardcore exist as a whole without being old skool or upfront". We really do love reinventing the wheel when there is no need for it, and instead of saying "I like that sound, add it to the many styles of hardcore" someone has to come along and say "THIS IS WHAT'S NEW; WE MUST ALL REPLICATE IT" and it's not just hardcore; every genre is guilty!
I'm not saying we should stay trapped in a time warp or that we should try new music, I'm saying we should get rid of the attitude of only playing the fresh stuff and embrace ALL of hardcore music as a whole regardless of where it's from and I think every genre should do the same and realise that you lose a hell of a lot the moment you pidgeonhole things by era!

Both ng and bb are approaching their 100th release so me would think they'll keep on with vinyl at least till after thats released

Why? Unless you're talking about only vinyl.

2004 was the year for NG and BB when they released vinyl and the second volume CD.

vinyl will never die imo, iv used CDJs & tbh their more like over priced toys to me. while their easy to mix on & make the DJs job easier (too easy if you ask me) they dont feel right & are a poor imitation. plus not everyone can afford CDJs compared to decks their well expensive. its like people are being forced into investing in new/sometimes unwanted equipment if they wanna keep playing new tunes. look at gabba & as someone said dnb producers are still pressing vinyl.
i stopped buying upfront hardcore in 2000 as tbh the music went downhill, a few tunes on Qoush Records upto 2003, the first three releases on Ballistic Bootlegs & the first release on Ripped 2 Fcuk were good but i didnt like owt else.
i also agree that hardcore shouldnt be pigeon holed but unfortunately it is :o( i wish that 90s happy hardcore was still being made & i'l soon be making my own tunes as im doing a course in music production, as i want to keep the old style alive!
anyways i'l continue to buy my 90s happy hardcore & bouncy techno & mix my tunes on my 1200 & 1210 mk2's the way that music should be played not on CDJs using poor quality MP3s that sound shit lol

the only problem with that rob, that none of the money you pay for goes back to the artists, unless they are still repressing the good old tracks
