I've been buying UK hardcore records off and on for ages. And just realised that there haven't been any releases for ages from Hixxy and Scott Brown on Raver Baby and Evolution. Have they gone digital or stopped their labels? Used to be an Evolution released almost every second week at one stage. Is Scott Brown taking a vacation or something lol?

Oh their still going strong. Haven't you noticed? Hixxy plays every day and night :P
Well, These are the 2 most slowest labels to release anything. Now that Breeze & Styles have their own label, everyone has noticed how dead raverbaby has gone. But then what I've understood, Hixxy have never been a good producer or writer.
Scott Brown has made a list of tracks to be released, but both label still suffers from not doing digital releases at all. Hixxy said already in 2004 that his store was ready to go, but he backed down when someone prop told him "piracy will go up duuuude". Scott Brown has made a few digital releases on his own website (last update about late 2006).
But then I can see 3 things stopping both labels from selling their music. Piracy, Licensing and Copyright. All 3 have a a equally big part of it all

A lot of people have asked Technikore & Al Storm when are they getting there first releases?
To which Technikore posted that theres 3 E.P's coming 1 from Himself, 1 from Al & 1 from Hixxy.
Which is due to be released in the next couple months.
Plus these E.P's will be the first batch of Raver Baby Digitals. So fingers crossed that they do get released soon.
But i aint got a clue about Evolution, I have realised over the last year or so there has been no Scott Brown @ any major event, But he his booked for Westfest 2010, So looks like he could be coming back & hopefully with a bang, because in the first 5 years of the 00's, He was on top form, i really hope he comes back on top form!!!!

I would find that hard to believe plus he was playing at global gathering there a few weeks ago and blew the place apart apparently

I think I remember reading somewhere (can't remember) that Scott Brown gave an update to the possibility of an MP3 store. And it was pretty recent. Does anyone have the scoop?? There's lots from the back catalog I would love to have myself!!! The ones currently on the Evolution website are a bit pricey for lower quality MP3s.

The last Evolution release came out earlier this summer, "Time to Runaway"...I think?...Hixxy hasn't released anything new in almost a year.

Being someone who still buys records too. I've noticed there has been a slowdown in releases from hardcore Vinyl labels.
Fortunately most of the best produces and hardcore labels all still release vinyl. Not too impressed with a lot of the mp3 hardcore label releases.
I'm sure they will all be released in due time. Raver Baby has always been real slow with releases and can't imagine Scott Brown stopping Evolution records.

DjTriq: now that's a track that deserves a proper digital copy!

Evolution releases.
Weaver & Andy L Rebuild Your Heart
Scott Brown Time To Runaway.
I think Raverbaby is finished the guys that used to run this are now running their own labels.
Hixxy will have to start up another label if he stops Raver Baby so he can release his tracks. Seems to start a new label every 5 years. Was running Essential Platinum before letting Dougal take over. Then started Legendry music. Then when that stopped, so he ran B Trax. Then when that stopped, he started Jelly Baby and then that stopped too but kept on with Raver Baby:)

what you on about?
based on the discogs for B-Trax, it was exclusive for his bonkers 7 mix. He ran Essential Platinum (and NEP i presume) with Dougal. And Jelly baby was started after Raverbaby, but I guess it wasn't necessary to have a 2nd label if they end up making the same kind of music to both anyways.

It makes me actually wonder why most labels have stopped the likes of Infinity who last released two years ago and also Masterwax who I think last released four years ago.

Silver took over Infinity from Breeze around 2005-06. I don't know what Silver has been doing lately tbh
