http://www.harddanceawards.com/euphoria/ Is the 12.99 worth it? I've heard a few of the artists on the album, but I'm not a big hardstyle person, but I do like it. So whats your thoughts on this cd?

it's a shame u don't live in the UK b/c TID has all tracks full length & unmixed + the actual mixes for only $16USD
i'd get it if you like at least half of it. not a bad deal for 12.99. is that in USD tho or pounds?

interesting factoid, Telstar owned Euphoria from 1999 - 2003, and made 30 compilations
in that time, they made 1 "best of" album.
Ministry of Sound took over in 2004 - 2010 and produced the next 26 compilations..of those 26 compilations over 1/3 of them..almost half (10 out of 26) were "classics/best of" albums.
just an interesting factoid....

i had 1 of those, was of trance and it was digitally mixed by matt darey i think
pretty much one of the most boring comps i ever owned. can't believe i paid $34USD for it

there are 4 "telstar" Euphoria's definately worth owning
The three chillout ones:
Chilled Euphoria
Deep and Chilled Euphoria
Chilled Out Euphoria
and the very last telstar one they made
Deeper Shades of Euphoria Vol 2
both cds start out chillout/ambient..then go into some really great trance.
imo the songs on the very early ones are great (the first 5 or so) - but the mixing is a massive letdown on all but the chillout and that deeper shades v2 one.
i cant speak for the MOS ones entirely, as i havent started listening to them yet - i only just got done listening to all the Telstar ones - (that said, i had to skip the chillout ones, as they would have sent me off to sleep at work...which is good for me..but not for my work lol)

First few ones from 1999-2000 are worth getting (including Ibiza Euphoria), rest are meh.

well there is the Euphoria Hardcore one, which is epic imo
can't speak for the rest as i don't focus much attention to any other edm genre besides hardcore

there is indeed, though for me it was released around about the sametime as load of other major hardcore cds, when I first listened to it I felt like I had just had the same songs rebundled or remixed, found myself skipping tracks that id never heard before just because it sounded like i'd heard them before lol - maybe its one i should come back to with fresh ears, i'll get to it eventually just got a ton of MOS "best of/classics" euphorias to get through before i hit it ;)

It's as good an example of current hard dance as you're ever likely to hear, get it bought!

I agree, I was quite disappointed with this one actually. Although all three cds are of similar quality unlike the first one.. Can't even remember who mixed that cd but it was nowhere near as good as the andy whitby & kutski cds.
Hard dance is really good at the moment i think and these mixes don't really reflect that.
Kutski & andy whitby are easily two of the best live djs i've seen.
