It just occurred to me that i don't really know anyone, except via Internet that likes to listen to happy hardcore, besides my little brother. Which leads me to the question, is it even worth perusing being a happy hardcore DJ in Orange County California? I believe the dominant branch of "techno" here is House. Anyone have any opinions?

people easier start to like happy hardcore then the harder version of hardcore as happy is pretty much explainable as a harder & uplifting version of dance. USA is not really the place for this music i guess but beeing diffrent and spinning it should work out just fine. I'd say its worth trying :)

happy hardcore is a branch of dance music...not a branch of techno.
also you shouldnt give up on your dreams :)
im sure there are other hardcore DJs in CA, you're in a better situation than being in the mid-west :P

Why not hold a house party and invite your friends and other DJs you know (of any genre) and set some decks up. Have your other friends who are DJs playing what they want, house or whatever and then around midnight, you spin some hardcore for an hour ;)
People are more likely to appreciate it when they are drunk and more likely to start dancing. You never know, 1 or 2 of the people might really enjoy it and start asking you questions afterwards

You could question whether it's worth pursuing it anywhere. And the answer is probably not, but its a labour of love.

Nick Steeple DJ Fauxami and I live in NoCal. And really (assuming there is none), setting up a hardcore scene in Orange County would be a lot easier than trying to set one up in Sacramento.
Hope you have luck pursuing it! You never know who might listen to HHC (I actually found some wannabe ravers by chance in the suburbs, ha ha)!

WRONG!
I don't know what's worse; that you replied to the troll post or that you took the comment seriously. Even then D&B is not better than Hardcore and Hardcore is not better than D&B, it's just a matter of opinion, so it's not right or wrong either way.
