Yes, that is true!
Another person died today because of his/hers injuries - makes it 20 by now. I went there very early, but we already had to smash down the fences at that time as well. First the police had beaten down some persons, but shortly afterwards helped to tear down the fences as well. I still don't get why they fenced in the crowd as there were enough possibilties to direct the posse from 3 different directions to the festival. It probably is the gouvernment's urge here in Germany to control everybody and everything. I guess nothing would have happened, if they'd just watching after that noone crosses the railroad tracks and leaving everything else by itself. It get's worsen here in Germany; almost feel like living in the German Democratc Republic.
What a shame!
Rave in Peace! ;-(

after more than 20yrs in existence, how come this happened now?
was the fence the main difference b/t previous yrs loveparade and this yrs that caused this tragedy? or was it just that the crowds were way too big???

In Berlin there haven't been any fences at all (or at least too few to notice). To my opinion: yes, the fences where the problem. It was possible to have acces by three different directions. Althoug the media here is reporting the location only was able to have a capacity of 250.000 persons, I think there would have been enogh space for everyone. But the police rather used the closed Autobahn next to the place as a great parking lot for their cars, than opening it up for the posse. But hopefully the main thing is that noone could bring in some glass bottles or selling drugs in a dark corner... X-(
