I fear the lack of Happy hardcore in that one I'm afraid. Just sounds like a B&S track from 2003
this however---
vocals reminds me of Helix's Get it Right

I still consider it Happy Hardcore. The term "UK Hardcore" seems to limit itself to only a "1-sound genre". Silver told me a while back that the only reason the radio plays upfront Happy Hardcore is because no one has submitted an old skool mix to the Di.fm people.

I wouldn't call the modern stuff Happy Hardcore. Same as I don't call modern Freeform Trancecore. Calling the modern stuff Happy Hardcore is the same as calling Drum & Bass Hardcore. After all, DnB was a progression of what used to be called Hardcore (oldskool).

I think it's because people are embarrassed to call it Happy Hardcore nowdays.

For good reason :p some of the old stuff is just embarrassing.
Either way, my favourite hardcore isn't "happy". I like the emotional minor chord progressions more than the boring "shooting star" major ones...
Calling it happy hardcore would be false today, since so little of it is actually written in major...
UK hardcore is a bit stupid but accurate. Even Canadian, Australian, German made "UK hardcore" emulates it perfectly. Freeform is somehow even dumber since it gives no meaning despite the style's obvious limits.
Nu core is dumb because 5 years from now it won't be new anymore.

I wouldnt say RFU makes Happy Hardcore, still sounds to up-to-date to me.
Sounds happy enough for me, i could settle with that.
Brilliant tune!
I usually like Nu Foundation but Chwhynny's vocals are way too nasal in that track... Either she wasn't breathing properly or she wasn't recorded/mixed properly...

Agreed! I'm all about the happy and that's one of my fave tunes of all time!
There are guys out there doing Happy Hardcore still; nu foundation does some great happy stuff, S3RL's happier tracks are just brilliant I totally love them!
I think nowadays hardcore is trying to get some street cred to make itself survive. So there's no more "Happy Hardcore" attatched to it anymore and it's starting to cater more too the club scene in terms of loads of fat basslines and thick beats which is cool but personally I'm not into it really.
(Oh btw I'm talking about the UK scene here, if you're in the US or Australia then this might sound totally off the mark because each scene is different and so on)
Anyway yeah, a lot of people will say "there is happy hardcore around" but a lot of it just sounds like really generic female-vocals track, which I just can't really get into to be honest!
I've asked people before "What is your all time HAPPY happy hardcore track" and I've had people say Rushing on Pink Champagne, Shooting Star, 24-7, Jieeeeeha, Wonderful Days etc. and YES they are older tracks but they all sound different. The key point being is that everyone has their own interpretation of happy, however nobody is saying modern stuff because there isn't really any happy in it anymore. It's just a lot of stomp stomp boom boom 170-180bpm dance music. Sad times!
Personally, controversial opinion up ahead but still: I blame it on the drugs! Good MDMA and Pills are very difficult to come by and most people are drinking, smoking weed or doing coke/K/speed. Personal choices are personal choices, I've got no probs with anyone doing any of those but the music does tend to follow the scene and vice versa, and when the scene isn't loved-up & happy neither is the music!
