lately ive been making my own KICKs and such, i use Sound Forge, but it doesnt have lots and lots of FX, anyone got any suggestions on audio editing programs?

dude!!!
Soundforge doesnt have many effects, bro, soundforge is DX compatible not only that u can get plugins like amulet which allow u to use VST plus ina DX environment.
for MAKING samples, id suggest any soft synth.
for editing u can go wrong with Soundforge...
for mastering, i use TRacks.
oh, if u want a great app, check out one called Beatburner... its a standalone app, but it can really fugg up ur beats and everything else u feed it... :)

But then you think why MAKE samples when you can download them? I mean nothing is wrong with recording vocal samples, etc, etc... But with synth sounds? Dude!!! www.freesamples.de - The vast majority of them are wav's

True, but i feel the track would be more of an original if i made most of the samples, sumthin i can call all my own, feel me??
Plus there isnt lots of good samples sources for gabber/hardcore samples around, so i hear alot of the samples i used in tunes, :)

Well you see, the riffs, chords, can be "yours", but samples? Hmm....
These samples are straight from a keyboards. Some poor fellow has taken the time out to record like 150 samples from 4 different keyboards, the least you could do is use then.
And every one used the Amen Break. It was like standard equipment in most Happy Hard up until 96/97. Nowadays its not. But the point is composers don't really care about the originality of sound (Classical music and the violin or happy hard and the piano) Its the music, be original in tune.
As for Gabber - most of it is distorted synths (as in stuff run through overdrive, or a distortion pedal....)
Anyway, have phunn....

there are a lot of good hardcore samples around, get a trance one and distort it! simple as!
If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

as for the forge, i got a pagefull of plugins and they suit me fine. you don't even need to many, bit of verb and delay, distortion, a few other things and youre sorted. soundforge you cant go wrong with, unless you cant use it well

Can anyone help me with gettin plugins for Forge?? i dont know anything about how to use plugins on them, im lookin for:
OVERDRIVE
SATURATION
or prettymuch anything :P
