Was messing around the other night on Fruity Loops and made a nice underground sound with the Sytrus plug in. Needed some kicks to go with it so sampled a nice Ruffneck style kick to go with it and some breaks.
The first demo contains the breaks, the second contains the hard kick. It sounds ok but I get the feeling it could be better. Not real tunes, justa starting point, I was wondering how to improve it further?
Here are the two demos so any feedback welcome. Nice and underground, something for the future!

Nothing is in time mate. The synth sounds about 140bpm where the kick and breaks are about 170ish.

How could I tell if it is too slow or too fast? Is there anyway to work out how to make the sythn and kick match. The breaks I wasn't so worried about but I want to do something with the kick but not sure what would be the 'right' speed if you get what I mean...

Don't u ake it all in the same project file? anyway u should be able to hear it easily. theres one kick on every beat, u know that right`?

Listen. If you can't tell it's out then, well that's not good.
What are you using? What DAW, what source for the kick and synth sounds? Are you using one shot samples for the kick? A vst for the synth? Or are they sequences ripped from tracks?

this erm... as said is rather bad. totally out of rhythm.
try putting the notes you made as melody at the same time the kick comes. so instead of what you have like this:
kick:
- - - - - - -
melo:
- - - - - - -
which is off
try this..
kick:
- - - - - -
melo:
- - - - - -
thats a first step in getting you to use some rhythm. after that.. i'd say.. either get rid of that hihat/clap LOOP your using.. or use fruity slicer to cut it up (just lost fruity slicer nd load the loop in.. will cut automatic) that way you can still use the things used in that loop but make it fit proper. could choose to fit to bpm but learning to build your own beat is better for you at this point.

The kick is sampled from a track. The synth I made on Sytrus... Not sure what a DAW or vst is?
Also how do I 'fit to bpm'?
Cheers for the feedback...

DAW = Digital Audio Workstation, which in your case is FL. The VST is Sytrus.
My advice for getting the kick in time is to scrap the loop. Chop just one kick out if the loop and load that one kick into the FL sampler and make your own sequence with it, that way it's going to fit with the BPM of the project. The next step to getting the melody in time depends on how you want the melody to be fitting with the kick. Is it meant to play the notes at the same time as the kick or is it meant to be an off beat (like most hardcore bass')? Once you have the kick in time the melody should be easy to fix. If you want to send the FL file to me I'll sort it for you and send it back to you with a detailed explanation of what I've done.

me too, except that Mediafire don't seem to work for some reason (which, by the sound of things, may be a blessing.... )

tbh, I don't know how you thought this was any good...
you have a kick going on 170 then a really slow melody haha, clearly a load of samples put together...
This isn't production, this is just a bad mix..

Well in spite of what you are all saying there is nothing inherently wrong with any of it, it simply isn't in time. It's not a big deal. Smoogie you need someone to show you how to use whatever program your using properly then you'll be sorted as at the moment you have not got the timing thing down yet. It's a very basic though you just need to learn how the program works in terms of timing (and maybe in general) then it won't be a problem for you again.
For those who are saying 'sorry but this is crap' or whatever, yes, you do mean to be rude otherwise you would word what you said differently, it's not difficult.
