That's pretty funky as it goes. A few mixdown issues to be fixed but over all not a bad track at all.

I don't hear anything wrong with the kick to be honest. I think the bass could do with being brought into the track a little more and the lead maybe needs to come up in volume a bit. Also I think the ride is far too loud and the open hat seems virtually non existent. I think if you can get a cleaner sounding OHH and play around with the levels on the ride then the lead will probably sound a bit clearer.

Conqueror 2011 coming next year! lol
I guess I'll use the conqueror track to showcase what I learn yearly as I learn it. Who knows, by Conqueror 2020, it might sound releasable lol!
Thanks for the feedback. I was generally pleased with the percussion and bass, but I can see where your coming from.

Not bad at all mate. I think the main riff could have a few notes shifted around to make it flow a bit better personally.
As has been said there is a few mix issues. Seems to be a lot of ultra high frequencies. Try to roll off a bit of the top end on some of those sounds so the ones that should be there have some space. Overall you want the track to dip off at that end of the spectrum.
Nice work though man.

That's interesting, I'm using a linear phase EQ, and it peaks at 3db before cutting at about 18Khz (i think, from memory)
However, i also set a limiter which had the top band with a larger threshold. Again, thanks :D

Omg, Just realized I posted the wrong fagging version on 4shared. This is the better link. Better limiting and master on this one.

Hmmm it could definitely do with some definition in the high end. I think it's just a case of using too many percussion sounds that fill that area and it's all mushing together. You need to roll some off of certain sounds or pick new ones as well as sorting the levels on a few bits up that end.
I love the way you've made the riff bendy in the mid section, that's cool. :)
I gather you've used some pretty heavy compression on the master channel too? The percussion at the start and end before anything kicks in sounds way loud. Maybe gone a touch too far with it.
You should definitely have a bash at sorting the mix despite it being "effort changing it". ;) heh. Try and give the main riff a bit more feeling too if you get me. You could have an awesome track on your hands, I really like the feel of it.

It's good. A good vibe, a good blend of melodies and sounds but as has already been said, the mix down needs work.
More could be made of the melody as Gaz has said and, if I had the time, I'd want to do an IonoMix of it but....
there isn't the time.
You however have. (when you're not slashing about)
*edit*
I listened to the wrong version. I'll check out the newer one tomorrow.
I could get a remix pack ready for you with all the midi files and samples? (or just a zipped flp file?)
Thanks for the feedback. I dont have allot of time.. Its difficult for me to sit down for hours and work non stop.
This is one I'm particularly proud of since it works. One of few tracks that has, recently..
reply to edit: all links to it are updated, you listened to the newest one available. :)
