Artists:

Auscore (Perth, Western Australia)

Auscore (Sam Barker), is a 17 year old upcoming UK Hardcore producer/DJ based in Western Australia. He has been writing his own tracks for a little over 2 years now and has already put his foot in the hardcore door. Sam has had tracks released on/signed to: Executive Records, CLSM Australia, Bedlam, Hardcore Reborn, Psychotik Trax, Hardcore Re-Addicted, ReBuild Music & many, many more. Sam has just started getting into DJ'ing fully and will be featured at many upcoming parties here in Australia in the near future.

Sam first started producing a few years ago as a joke. He was still at school at this point and had no intention of making music his career path. He got a hold of FL Studio 7 and tried his best but nothing seemed to work and he gave up. He didn't touch the sequencer for about 8 months and when he started again, it just clicked. He begun churning out choon after choon after this and constantly improving with every track. The first real showcase of Sam's producing talent was when DJ Cotts started supporting him on the Aussie Hardcore Show on HappyHardcore.com. After this, Sam's popularity grew and grew as did his motivation to write tunes. Sam recently grabbed one of his biggest accolades yet by scoring an EP on Australia's most successful Hardcore label "Executive Records".

Sam is still only 17 and is as much a fan of the music as he is a creator of it. Track him down for a chat at any Perth rave in the future.

Whiskey (Perth, Western Australia)

Steve Armstrong is a DJ/MC Based in Perth, Western Australia. Originally from Manly in Sydney, From an early age he was influenced by the sounds of Hip Hop and Gangster Rap. Which lead to an interest in Hardcore MC’ing when in early 2004 when he was taken by a few friends to his first rave. Discovering the sounds of Hardcore, Steve was instantly hooked.

In January of 2005 he teamed up with Thrillseeka promoter and Gabber legend DJ Crystal who showed him the ropes and gave him an insight in to what the scene was all about. Later that year after establishing himself in the Sydney scene he picked up a fortnightly residency at popular Thursday club night Dosage and alongside other residents DJ Dover, DJ Focus and MC Rek formed the group Four Point Theory. It was around this time that Steve bought his first vinyl and set of turntables and began the long frustrating process of learning to mix.

2006 proved to be a successful year with bookings from a host of different promoters such as Sinizta Muzik (Adelaide), Aladdin Entertainment, MA-15+ Entertainment, Tigerlilly Marketing, Revolution Productions, Josh and friends Presents and Headstrong productions to name a few. Steve also jumped behind the scene’s and alongside Cranky Entertainment promoted two events. "A New Beginning" in January and “Nothing Suss” in June which was a complete sell out! During this time he played his first DJ set at Dosage B2B with Ryno.

In March 2007 Steve moved to Perth and decided to take time off from performing, but after 3 months the Hardcore itch returned and he hooked up with a promising new DJ/Producer by the name of Matt Luminate.
After their first back to back booking at Reset 2 the parties started coming in quick succession, playing regularly for F.O.R.C.E Entertainment they established themselves as one of Perth‘s most exciting Hardcore DJ duo‘s playing most of the events in 2007 and 2008.
In that time Steve also went on to play at WA’s largest hard dance nightclub, Rise.
In 2008 he was also voted in the top 3 category of the Perth Dance Music Awards (PDMA) "Best MC" award, no small feat as this category is usually dominated by Drum n Bass & Hip Hop MC's.

Matt Luminate (Perth, Western Australia)

Matt Luminate has been at the fore front of the Perth rave scene since his first DJ sets on NYE 2006. Supporting the sounds of Freeform and Hardcore, In mid 2006 he was runner up in the Rise bedroom to Bigroom competition, catching the eye of Force Entertainment and quickly being snapped up to play his first official (Double) booking on NYE at Sunrise and Rise nightclub.

In the following year he went on to establish himself as one of Western Australia's fastest rising stars in the hardcore scene. Teaming up with Sydney ex pat Steve Whiskey he played every major rave and club party that Perth had to offer and placed second in the annual Perth Dance Music Awards in the Hardcore DJ category. It was during this year that Luminate got a taste for making the music he loves and he began to try his hand at producing.

2008 proved to be another strong year as he went on to play at huge events such as Insomniak 2, Reset 3, Nightmare 2, Sunrise 3 and continued to smashed the decks at Rise. Another successful showing in the PDMA's placing third behind hardcore legends Rousa & Hutcho shows that Luminate is proving himself to be one of the next big names in the Australian Hardcore movement.

During his time behind the 1's and 2's Luminate has had the pleasure to play along side some of the worlds biggest name's such as Breeze, Sharkey, Menis, Dair, Weaver, Darren Styles, Al Storm, Kevin Energy, Proteus and Scott Brown. A man on the up... With many upcoming Local & Interstate gigs and many different productions in the pipeline, including tracks signed to NSR & Euphoric Overload, Matt Luminate is one name to look out for in 2009!

Skeltaboy (Phoenix, Arizona)

Being born into a very musical family laid the foundation for my current interests and goals to build from. I was constantly subjected to and influenced by music in any form. Things like starting piano lessons at age 6, singing in a boys chorus at 8, and being self-taught at guitar by age 15 all played their rolls in tuning my ears and wiring my brain for music.

I got my first taste of electronic dance music at age 12 and immediately became obsessed. After listening to this fascinating music for several years, I wanted more from it...I wanted to be a part of it. I formed ideas of becoming a DJ, traveling internationally to play for enormous crowds. I began studying the more technical aspects of this music style. From song structure to how icon DJ's such as Paul Oakenfold seamlessly blended track after euphoric track.

I first tried my hands on a set of turntables at the age of 16. No, I can't boast learning how to mix at age 4 like some other DJs, but for me this was early enough to spark a rush of inspiration and set me determined to learn everything I could about mixing and creating the music I had come to love over the past several years. In 2005, I launched a solo project, "Project Dreamscape" combining calming, ambient pads with hyper drum n bass beats. It became somewhat of a success, selling self-made CDs to fans for $5, but it would still be about 2 years before I bought my first turntables. It was about that time (17) I was introduced to Hardcore, sending me straight into the deep end of the Dance scene. This would be the year I attend my first rave and realize that finally, after all this time, this is where I belong.

I began working very closely with already established names in the Arizona hardcore scene and was quickly picked up by Busy Bee Entertainment (Rainbow Brite & The Kandie Kids, Tunes & Toys, Hard Candy). After collaborating on production, mixes, and events, Busy Bee is moving up in the scene, and fast. Just recently, Cheddarcore Productions (Kandieland) has added me to their lineup and showcased the new addition at Kandieland 5, Arizona's hardcore massive.

Recently, I've been focusing heavily on writing Hardcore music and making a name for myself not only as a DJ, but a Producer as well. With forthcoming releases on budding Australian digital label, Fundamental Hardcore, and future remix/collab work with established names in the global Hardcore scene, good things are goin down! Stay tuned as our story continues!
