Not really a sensible (he got it!) contribution, but I used to LOVE hearing this as a kid when I started up a game! Amazing game.

This particular dude plays old computer game themes. He plays the melody through triggers in the drums. The melody is pre-programmed into the synth, he triggers the notes on the different drums. Quite ingenious.

Started to listen to the Quake 2 soundtrack again. It forced me to go on ebay to look for a copy of the PC game again, as I had done away with my ORIGINAL disc in favor for the Quake 4 special edition version :(

Not to mention how ****ing brilliant Bramble Blast/Stickerbrush Symphony is. It's pure, brilliant chill-out music and no one could guess it's video game music if they didn't know beforehand.

Yeah, it actually sounded really nice; it's compareable to the Goa-music I listened to in Chill-Out-areas. And considering the fact that this game was published back in 2000 when Goas were much stronger I wouldn't wonder to find out that quite a lot of the developers of thin one regularly were confronted to such music.
