Yes, I've only heard a few of her tunes and really liked them. I see she's done a few collab's with Cube::Hard, will have to listen out for those.

I think Clos name came from a childhood nickname or somthing while mine came from my drunken backpacking days around the world where i accumulated a big scar and so the name stuck. nothing to dainty or a pansy girl name but thats how i like it :)

Anyway, the same thing happens in every aspect of life. Men are so scared of offending feminists they're actually put in a lower place and rather than equality the whole thing has just been flipped. Same thing with racial activists. Nothing really to do with DJing, but when I was applying for college it was damn near impossible to find any scholarships to apply for as a white male. Everything was either for women, or african/hispanic groups. I'd love to see some real equality but that's just not the way to world works, so why bother dreaming.
I think good DJs should be advertised and promoted as GOOD DJs, not Female DJs or whatever else they shamelessly promote. But similar to the way stupid girls go to expensive colleges crappy female DJs are probably hired more than talented male ones just for the novelty. Not worth bitching about if you ask me, it's probably a hate crime or some stupid shit.

I'm sure the only reason the press or whoever puts the 'female' tag on there is to gain interest (sex sells). Pure and simple. Obviously all the guys are going to want to check her out and read the article etc.
Same reason there's videos and articles about something happening to "hot girl" or "bikini chick" there would be less interest otherwise!

i was having this conversation over the weekend with anther 'lady' dj. The worse part about being a female dj is the label of it all. Theres been a couple of events where we have been booked and played on a all-ladies night and then told they will book us on the next ladies night. why cant we just be booked on a normal night inbetween? as the ladies night do come far and inbetween. isnt that all abit sexist? we can do just as good at the decks as alot of the male djs, and its not our fault we been born with a clunge and not a dick? lol
whinge and moan over......
