i know everyone here has make a thread you just wish you could end, right then and there, yes i know mods could do that, but i think it would be cool if the person who posted it could close it....

Yea the delete button hasnt worked for a while (or is it even there anymore?) :P
Untill silver fixes it, just edit the text away, and write something like "delete" to the message field.
As far as locking goes, id say hell no. The original topic creator doesnt own the discussion, it evolves on its own weigth. Even mods cant lock topics just because they want to.

You can't just stop a converstation once started so locking own topics is not going to happen. Delete as well, you can't take back what you said once you said it (more or less)... well you can edit it at least :)
