 I am a newbie to professional production and need help. I want to get Cubase SX, Some drum Machine (Roland 909 type), Digital/Analogue mixer and a couple of decent synths but how the **** do I connect them and get them to work?
I am also having trouble trying to use my existing keyboard with my computer. I have connected it right but no sound or data is being sent to the computer. What should be happening is that when I press a key on the Keyboard the sequencer should recognise it and the input level should be moving (bar which show volume)

you sure it's connected right? midi out on the keyboard to the game port on the soundcard or midi in.
then make sure the keyboard is sending data,is there a button that says midi mode or something along those lines?
then make sure you've selected the right input from cubase

sounds like your cubase input settings are wrong. if it's connected through a midi connection, make sure cubase is set to recieve input from that source.
