I recently dug out of my loft my old QUICKSHOT MIDIcomposer keyboard.
I was happy.
I plugged it in to my computer.
I was excited.
I tryed to get it working, but it wasnt having any of it.
I cryed!

Im currently running under windows XP (for some reason it came with the PC!) so im thinking that it could have somthing to do with it. The keyboard has got midi out, and a connection to the good old sound card joystick port.
I do have Midi in on my soundcard if that is suppos2 help!
The Quickshot web site ( http://www.quickshot.com ) was NO HELP AT ALL- mainly because it hasnt been updated since about 1999, and i can't find anything about it on the net anywhere.

If anyone has any ideas about how to get it to work, why its not working or otherwise, please reply to this post!!

If no solution is found i have decided to got for a midi keyboard such as the "Midiman Oxygen 8" which is more-or-less £100 from hard to find ( http://www.htfr.com )
Anyone got any comments on that or any other USB midi keyboards???

My first midi problem (which is very similar to yours) was caused by cheap midi cable.

XP should not cause a problem provided you have the correct drivers.

ok, well i have tryed it with a midi-to-midi cable and a joystick-conection-type-thing to the joystick-conection-type-thing on my soundcard, so i'm probably doing somthing stupid!

could somone walk me thru exactly what i should be doing to get it working on FL or on ! !ANYTHING! !
I have just restored my system, so i'll go and try it now to see if that has made any difference!

oh, btw, i'll have a look at another cable or rob sum1's!

YAY - joy of joys i fixed it! there is a bit of wiring loose inside, so i had 2 just tweek about with it, and it's fine now!

the only thing that is annoying is the delay, but if i was to upgrade to a USB midi keyboard, would that get rid of the delay, or would it still be there??

you need to update the drivers to cure the latency. if you go into the midi system in fl (if it's got one,coz i don't hsve fl) you'll see something like "asio driver". change them and you'll get the latency lower.
