'Kandieland IV

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

From the people that brought you Kandieland I, II, & III, Beats & Cheese, Resurgence, Remembrance, & Warped Science, & H.T.I.D. Rewind!

It's that time again when people from all over North America assemble for the largest U.K. hardcore music festival of the year! Kandieland III had over 1,450 hardcore people in attendance and we hope to top that this year!

Main Stage

Slipmatt - United Kingdom - First Arizona appearance!
(Universal Records / Ministry of Sound / XL Recordings)

The legendary DJ Slipmatt is one of the most popular and well-respected DJ's on the planet. He has played all over the world, mixing across every continent and all over the United Kingdom. Known to many as The 'Godfather of Rave' as well as one of the 'Godfathers of Happy Hardcore,' as he responsible for helping to invent the sound. His career as a professional producer and DJ began in 1989, releasing his first single called 'Do That Dance' with partner and fellow DJ 'Lime' under the production group name of "SL2". They went on to experience incredible success as SL2 with the number 11 national chart hit 'DJs Take Control/Way In My Brain' and 'On a Ragga Tip' which in April 1992, hit number 2 in the national charts and the number 1 spot in the Network Charts, videos featured on MTV. In 1993 DJ Slipmatt set up a new project called the SMD series (Slip Matt's Dubs), his first release 'SMD#1' sold over 10,000 copies, pushing a new sound style called 'Happy Hardcore.' This was one of the last Old Skool Jungle / Hardcore crossover tracks ever released. Eventually deciding to focus his talent, he successfully took the hardcore music route. He has been involved in a series of highly successful compilation albums with 'Ministry of Sound' under the 'Helter Skelter' banner. After all these years Slipmatt is still on the cutting edge of the dance scene; bringing his fans the newest releases in U.K. Hardcore, his new genre 'Ravebreaks,' as well as bringing all the old-school classics he is famous for. Prepare to see an absolute legend storm the dance floor!
