phpBB only does message boards as far as i know, which is only a portion of this site.
As far as phpBB gos, pretty much all integrity on the site would be lost. As now silver has modded the forum to work with many other features of the site (all of these would be lost). Also I've heard from many admins that phpBB is a real bitch to use, its being attacked all the time, so they have to update the forum software a lot, which takes time and also overrides all previous modding done to the software.
As far as "flash" gos, i really dont see how anyone could see phpBB as flash? I actually like vBulletin a lot, which btw this forum is not. This forum used to be Snitz Forums, but due to lack of updates on the software, silver pretty much started to update it himself. So now theres only portions left from the old Snitz Forums... if i remember right.
Anyway what do you think the forum doesnt have, that would make it have this flash your talking about? :)

I agree with phpBB story..... I've had loads of problems with it, but similar to Silver, I have integrated the rest of my site with it so I'm pretty much stuck with it. I do prefer php over ASP though any day!
for a site to look "flash" it has nothing to do with the code behind it. I could make phpbb look just like this, and similarly I don't imagine it being that hard to make this forum look like the default subsilver theme that comes with phpbb.
Silver has started updfating the design of the site though, as you can see fromt he messaging buddy system

Changing would take too much time for no gain at all. What is your reasoning that we should change out of interest?
phpBB and vBulletin also attracts alot of spambots.
