It should be legalised. I am not in favour of underage use, like fags and beer.
But it will still happen. I don't think old ladies should be made to do community service either. The Uk's outlook and law is an ass and if it stays like this it will only get worse. At least treating it the same as other legal drugs would regulate it to some degree and may help the crippled NHS with revenue. Decriminalisation like here and holland only does half a job. Half a job better but still half a job. It means the establishment can look or look away when it suits them. I am not going to argue it is not damaging all drugs are in some way. However some are much worse than others. I think I was lucky to live thru the 'Heroin screws you up campaign' It put me off. Well that and my dad threatening to beat me to within an inch of my life then shopping me ( he is quite liberal about other substances but smack was a no no and I am pleased he was my dad ).
I am sick of the gateway arguements, anyone who moves on from spliffs to harder substances probably had a fag and beer ( or should I say cider? )
before that. So for me the arguement doesn't stand up.
I am a dad, a 4 year old and a little bab and I would not be happy if they were experimenting before the age of 16 ( although and my friends did ). I do think before that age the imagination should be so great they shouldn't need it.
If an adult is using anything to solve problems then they are on a hiding to nothing, if it is for fun and pleasure, some stuff can enhance experiences, I think the Beatles, Dylan and Hendrix would agree with me. That is the right arena but only the individual can tell why they are doing it. My philosophy was how little to get a buzz ( ok it was cause I was broke too ) and that route helped as a rule. I have binged before but that doesn't make me happy. Being happy then choice of a little was the best enjoyment I have had.

My parents also brought me up to think not every day could be a party. Cos if it was, then we would stop enjoying them ( everyone needs a come down sunday at some stage ). Also good advice I think.

That said I always have event to look forward to in the year. A rave, Christmas, Rugby, Football, Grand National even a Eurovision party thye anticipation and build up is as good as the event sometimes.
I think this is true with weed and many other experiences, sometimes its not the smoke that is the buzz, its smoking it in a new enivorment with new people playing new games watching new movies and listening to new music.
( when I say new I mean great or not seen before too ).

Anyway Paranoia...yes.
Mental stresses and cosis..yes for some people.

But then cancer for tabacco and liver failure for alchol, I will take my chances
with the first choice thank you.

I sometimes think the real fear, is that if it was, the politicans know we would all sit around learning the sitar and enjoying ourselves to much. The army will fall apart due to lack of aggression, our economy would dive as the working day would start at three pm, lunch breaks would go uo to 2 hours long and piped music would become mandatory in all streets of the UK.

Then all bosses would enforce us to listen to their music. Great if you boss has taste but imagine a whole day every day. of Crusty indie angst.

Still..... it should be leagal

I agree I think it should be legalize, but I agree with you Stevie C I don't agree with underage usage, at that time in your life you should still have enough imagination and sense of I don't know hope that you should stay away from it.

I think if you are going to use you will use even if is legal or not, people find ways, I think if younger people and by younger people I mean younger than say 17 nowadays would stop thinking about fast money and living an easy life with huge houses and nice cars without the work, maybe there wouldn't be so many drop-outs from school and so much drug use.

I understand when I was growing up my family had issues and I didn't fall into a drug pit, but not because of my parents but because I think I was lucky and found something-- I know this sounds dumb but music help me escape that was my drug

I don't know were I would be without it, probably not around
it's kinda sad that so many young people-- I feel so old-- aren't able to find something in life to live for
