Tax Credit is called rebate here, remember them? Oh and child care is very much more affordable and the standard is better.

I have to say that in my point of view, if there was no tax credits i would not be able to work! I work 30 hours or more at the moment and the only benefit i get is that i have 75% of my childcare paid for. No rebate on council tax, no rebate on rent, and no free meals for my kids! I seem to manage. I may not be anywhere near rolling in it but i get by, and its through hard work too, not just being sat on my butt doing jack and expecting everyone else to pay for me and my kids. As far as i am concerned i had them/wanted them its my responsibility to see that they are taken care of! There is a lot of taxes on top of taxes i agree but, what sort of country would we have if we didn't have em? We would be in a right mess i think. What sort of country do you want? One like Iraq? Where the government has ALL the money and we have nothing! I know i wouldn't want it like that!

OMG! Didn't realise i'd written so much sorry!

If they sack you, surely you'd have a case at a tribunal...

On the other hand, if they make you working there miserable, you'd ahve a case at a tribunal. There are certain things set out for single mums nowadays, all to help them with getting back to work! If things are really so bad with a certain boss, find another job! Took me around 4 years but i found a place where i think i fit in (or hope so). And if i can do it, anyone can. ;-)
