I turned up to my work placement this afternoon, only to find out that half of the roof was gone. Quite annoying actually because i just wanna get the placement over and done with!

I work in one of the towers in canary wharf, you could feel the building tilting at times, and it was creaking and groaning like a bitch!
Getting home was a mission as well. Fancy closing London Bridge in the middle of rush hour just cos there's a chance of getting crushed to death by falling glass...

Phew. has all calmed down now here! We lost a few bits and bobs off our building at work, some of the roof vanished, a bit of the outside went flying underneath us and we now have a ceiling tile bulging with a bucket underneath it. right underneath the main entrance.
At the other main site for my company they lost the roof off one building, a tree came down, and the main entrance was closed. They ended up doing a phased evacuation of however many thousand people there are on-site.
The M6 was messy (closed at the junction I turn off at) and most of Preston centre was closed too, so no way home without getting stuck in traffic!! Fortunately they re-opened the motorway about 5 min after we joined the queue and we bombed it down and cut into the inside lane so we passed alot of my colleagues who had left about an hour before heh.
got home, and the only damage that I could see was 3 fence panels blown down, and *maybe* a slate off our roof, but I can't see where its from
Hope everyone is ok, and got home safely etc.
