So basicly, you where drunk walking through the town or wherever late at night....and you heard/seen a group of people doing the same thing as you and called the police on them?

Oh dear god the irony.....

Police are a joke were i live!
Am still waiting to get a video interview for my 9 year old son who was assaulted the same night as me on 2nd July!
But you read this week in court in my local paper and theres loads getting done for having no insurance on the car or going a couple of miles over the speed limit!
I thought the Police were there to protect you?
The number of times i have left messages to arrange this interview and no one gets back to me!
Its so annoying!
And you watch when my ex's bail date is up on 10th October i bet he gets community service cos he pleads guilty!

Good on you Smoogie any ways!

Do you actually know these guys personally or have had a problem in the past? Did you know for a fact that the alcohol was stolen or that they intended to harm someone?

exactly

half of them are ****s half aint you cant go ***** peops nights up for no reason, what reason did you give the police for calling them?

Can't comment on what's happened because I don't know all the facts.

May be Smoogie was right, may be he was wrong, but if underage people are drinking alcahol late at night out on the street then there's no two ways about it, in this country that is illegal.

I'd probably turn a blind eye, but then am I right or wrong to do that?.......You have to take each instance on its merit(s).

I saw this negro once walking down the street and I called the cops because it was obvious he had a gun on him and was off to rob some liquor store and then steal a bike off a man in a pink tracksuit.

Can't understand why people call the police solely because of underage drinking, fair enough if they're actually annoying people. To be honest when I was that age I used to come out with my mates and get pissed, not so much on the streets but definatly on parks. Was good back then because you all kept in touch through school, 40 or so heads, a stereo, plenty of beer and maybe some disposable bbqs in summer, was a laugh. I used to enjoy it and if I went back now I don't think I'de do it any different. There's no where for kids to go and just telling them not to drink isn't going to work.

Back on topic (sort of), In my opinion its better these kids do drink while they're young to an extent, at least then by time they start going in pubs they know how to handle their beer and don't start acting like tits...

Anyway, if these kids were causeing trouble then I can understand it, otherwise, shame on you Smoogie.

that is sooooo not tru

ppl who start dinkin like that are on a downward spiral. im pretty sure every citys got its drinkin problems but where i am, there are places that are to be avoided like the plague.

2 week ago a friend of someone where i work, was followed after leaveing a pub + glassed in the street directly opposite where i work, someone called an ambulance he went to the hospital. he was taken back home some time later, where the same ppl who glassed him were waiting and basicly attacked him again untill he was definatly dead.

the culprits?

16 + 17yr gang of drunk lads who thought it would be funny and were pissed off for whatever reason

i highly doubt the probability that the number or kids drinkin are gonna randomly kill someone is that high but all the "just ignore the problem while it isnt big" attitude the world pretty much has is kinda stupid.

besides the fact that alcohol is poiseness+addictive and most kids who drink are doing it for the sole purpose of getting smashed out there faces.. wich isnt a good starting point for the ppl who are going to be the next generation anyway.

i could rant for freakin ages and span out into loads of other topics about what is wrong with society.. but what tick's me off the most, is that i cant do jack all about it, and noone else would give a damn anyway.

and while smoogie was bein a spanner, *technically* he is correct in what he did, not that it will make the slightest bit of difference.

maybe smoogie you could quit the alcohol urself?

Drinking early certainly doesn't stop people becoming drunken louts when they're older thats for sure! As a comparison, compare the UK to the US

UK
Legal to drink from 18. Most people start at about 15. You go into town on a Friday / Saturday night and you've got kids hanging about outside off licences asking you to buy them booze, if you refuse you get a mouthful of abuse, if you don't get a mouthful of abuse anyway. In town everybody is so off their face, the lads are often getting rowdy. Some in a friendly manner, but some in an "Oi, you spilled my pint!" or "You looking at my bird?" kind of way. I think most people in the UK have been on the end of this kind of situation before now.

US
Legal drinking age (most states) is 21. Kids start drinking from about 17/18 (please someone correct me if I'm wrong on this). You go out and its generally a fun atmosphere. No hint of menace whatsoever. Well, sometimes there is, but thats usually down to the bad mofos, who reckon they're G's and it has nothing to do with alcohol. Last time I was in the states, we landed quite late at night, I was with my parents and my (then) baby sister in her carry cot kind of thing. We went out to find somewhere to get something to eat (it was about 11 I think). Ended up at a bar/restaurant place, there were 2 kids outside arguing, obviously drunk. We walked past, used to the UK kind of drunk arguments so head down, try to walk past quickly and one of them turned to us and full of enthusiasm started complimenting my parents telling them what a cute baby they had and were really friendly. Every time I have been out in the States / Canada I encountered the same attitude.

Maybe its not connected with drinking age, and its just that us Brits are natural born tw**s, who knows
