James Reed aka DJ Smokey started mixing back in 1994, but it wasn’t until the summer of 2000 that he first got a taste for playing in clubs at a weekly night in Oxford called Meltdown which he co promoted with 2 other people under the name of Rebel Faction. Since then Smokey has played in almost every club in Oxford. Smokey was the winner of The Hit & Run DJ Competition in 2004 with his trademark fast mixing style & showcased his ability to mix across sub Genres of drum n bass with ease. Smokey has performed alongside some of the biggest names in the scene today such as: Andy C, Pendulum, Dom & Roland, D-Bridge, Moving Fusion Dylan, Tech-Itch, Swan E, Dillinja, Utah Jazz, Mc Dynamite, Fat Man D and many more.
