We have the same problem here "boy racers" gay name imo, its not the nice done up ones that cause the prolems however, its the rusty bombs with there wrecked exhausts pissin everyone off at 2am.
Dont get me wrong about customized cars I fully understand, in fact i hav an 89 r32 skyline in the works ;) Anyhow its a small number of idiots given real car enthusiasts a bad name :(

i more hate the reckless drivers that dont give 2 shits about other people on the road or even the passengers in their cars... it angers me very much so

Boy racers piss me off, come into work all the time. "alrite man sound n it man want this sub man looks phat man, shit man shits a mutant sub phat", when their lookin at mega budget stuff n then comes the spoiler etc...
Im not a boy racer but do drive fast sometimes, funniest thing is atm Im drivin a 4 litre landrover, and for its size aint that slow n Ive beaten a few boy racers in it which is always funny lookin at how shocked they are

i have a STOCK Corsa :P... i do drive her fast, but i'm not a racer... I pride myself on keeping in my lane, and driving safely. Speed limits are too slow here to be honest, and the one near accident that i've nearly had was when i was looking at my speedo going through a fixed speed camera near Rockdale... and nearly rear ended the guy infront... All the others are from idiots not looking, or not knowint the road rules properly. I think that government would do better in funding driver education.. maybe refresher courses every 5 years?

Not a 1ltr peice of sh1t! Wots the point in making ur car look fast when its not, u just look like a c u n t when a 1.2ltr Metro kicks your ass at the lights!

I drive an 89 civic crx coupe and am no boy racer. But its the 17 year old lad that comes into the car park in his batterd vauxhall nova and tells us he smoked a cossie last night that gives us all a bad name, and about 10 minutes of entertainment i have to admit

Loosely speaking, yes (music optional).
Generally, anybody who drives like an idiot - doesn't necessarily have to be a good/crap/souped up/standard car.
It's another one of those terms like 'Chav' that are often used as a label without any real meaning behind them.
